15s-20s is about how long I’ll pop a countdown when I’m tanking in DR. And I pop it right about when 1/3 of raid members already reached the next boss arena. Should be plenty of time to get ready while letting the stragglers catch up for not too long, right?

A lot of my run as a tank, yep.
But there were still impatient bunch, i.e one that cancels my 15s countdown for their 10s right immediately after I pop mine. A bit rude in my opinion, but I just laugh whenever this particular tank dies to a tankbuster cause lack of mitigation or heals.. or to doom mechanic (we had a party of 2 tank & 6 DPS). Auto-potions are just OP

There were also few times when I saw somebody asking in alliance chat for players to wait for the stragglers before starting, but apparently that just encourages some players to just pull right away when they reach the next encounter. That particular player was in the same party with me. They even stated something like 'Let's just pull.' in party chat in response to that other player's plea.

I've been running Orbonne for the last bit needed for the relic and hoping to get the MCH chest while I'm there. My partner and I ran it a few times last night, and seemed to find the same person in the duty, though usually in other alliances. Nothing special about it at the time, just that I noticed it.

Then someone had an annoying macro in shout chat for every time they did Veraero or something, so people were complaining and joking about it. This person we kept seeing, the WHM in our alliance this time, kept telling us to stop talking because it was slowing the fights down. It didn't seem much slower than usual, and also it was like 2am so who is actually in hurry at that point. An alliance raid taking 1 minute longer than usually is pretty insignificant.

We finished the run, and naturally I had to make a quip about how if we all stopped talking we could've finished it 10 seconds faster. They said if I was as good at doing damage as I was at complaining, we would've finished 5 minutes faster. I'm pretty sure I was doing just fine, so I called them out and asked if they had proof that I was doing poorly. They said nothing, but then two other people from other alliances ran over to me and one was like "I love you lol" and they hugged me, did the dote emote on me and my partner, it was pretty funny. It definitely balanced out the whining of that other person. They even told us to stop talking and roll on loot, even though we'd already rolled. I called them a sourpuss.

Which part is bait? Me asking if they had proof? I'm not sure what you're referring to, since you quoted my entire post.

Either way, they could've also said "I saw you doing x skill at y time which was slow" or something, but they suddenly had nothing more to say on the matter when I asked them how they would know how I was performing.

Aye, if they had act running could not very well say that. As for commenting on how you were playing that also probably would not have gone well either. Could have replied why ya paying so much attention to how I was playing or if you were not paying so much attention to me your dps could have been higher or something.

Largely was bait all around and no matter how they answered it would have not ended favorably. Granted, they should not have commented at all.

They were playing a pretty dangerous game then. I don't parse because I don't care about numbers, especially in alliance raids, but I still do my best. If they're expecting people to go ham in stuff like that, they're better off taking a whole premade group in. I couldn't help but laugh too because it seemed like, according to the amount of aggro I had, I was out-DPSing everyone as a MCH anyway. The only one with more than me was the tank, but it's obvious why. And they also had the gall to criticize me when they died a handful of times to things they didn't need to die to, especially when they could heal themselves. But I didn't bother to point it out because we never wiped and I really wasn't as combative as they were in that moment. I was more upset about losing the chest piece I wanted to the other MCH when I rolled a 3, and it was the only time I've seen it while even playing an aiming job anyway. That sucked.

Though there's comfort in the fact that people seemed to appreciate that I stood against their commandeering attitude, and I don't think anyone took their side. I understand wanting good performance, but they were being way too unrealistic about their expectations.

I just don't understand why people couldn't just be patient and realize that one, two, five, or ten minutes difference is not the end of the world. And besides, generally speaking runs where people made mistakes are more fun and challenging, hahaha.

It's moments like this that make me want to not play this game with any of you horrible, horrible people. I'm solo 99% of the time because I can't even play the game without things like this happening when other people get involved. All I want to do is play with people and have fun, and I have such horrific social anxiety issues that grouping with people and playing with them is a massive challenge for me, and when I'm forced to group with people for roulettes or dungeons or whatever and people like this are around, it makes me feel confused and upset.

I'm never joining a FC. I'm never finding a static. I'm never running with people unless I absolutely can't avoid it. Some of you people are so horrible.

Generally speaking I've encountered good people much more often than I encounter people who annoy me in FFXIV, and even if they do stuff that annoy me I just chalk it as whatever, just take it easy, it's not a big deal.

Honestly, if they are having THAT bad of a time I'd be willing to bet the fault doesn't solely lie with other players. I've had some bad experiences, sure, but I could probably count all the instances of bad behavior that I actually remember on one hand. If I can't remember it, clearly it wasn't noteworthy. I myself have some social anxiety and yet I have no problems getting along with random people 99.9% of the time.

I don't want to sound mean, but you are playing an mmo, this stuff happens. On rare instance I run into simular situations where you just can't deal with it. Have you asked friends to play with you or make an fc?

If you mean friends in real life, of the maybe three I have, none of them play games. I'm the odd man out. If you mean friends I have made while gaming, I have none.

I did say 'some' at the end there. Obviously not everyone is horrible.

I am sorry that you have anxiety playing with other people, I really do. And I understand not all of us can handle social interaction with other people, especially when they do things you disagree with, and just handwave it away, like I usually just do.

Ahhhh.... just don't let such a thing bothering you so much. Really, a vast majority of my social interactions with other people here in FFXIV has been normal, if not occasionally even entertaining and nice. Yea there were, are, and will be jerks but eh, try not to think about them too much; I mean once you're done you're done with them so it seems like such a waste of time letting them occupy your mind.
