I love the rotation (as boring as people think it is) of Dragoon. On top of that, I love how the rotation rewards you with an upgrade of your combo starter if you hit a couple of your positionals. It's a nice visual output that says "Good job!" for hitting positionals, while most other classes get slightly bigger numbers and you have to think "Did I hit that positional, or did the boss turn before I could get it off?"; That visual indicator makes me happy.

Red Mage is my favorite "I want to play, but I want to relax too" DPS. Its rotation is simple but offers some optimization that you can do to stand out. It's a very meditative experience.

Only tried RDM twice so far, doesn't feel meditative...yet

Still in the 'what goes where and when' and managed to probably wasted a 1/3 of my dualcast stacks in my first leveling dungeon with it.

Ahh, it will definitely get there, I remember that point. It's a little bit of an oversimplification, but it's basically:

Jolt (or Verstone/Verfire if they're up) -> Veraero/Verthunder (depending on which mana type is lower) until you're at 80|80, then Corps-a-corps to get into melee range, melee combo, Displacement to leave melee range. That's pretty much it for single target. There are some buffs and oGCDs to weave into it, but that's the gist.

For AE, it's the other way around Veraero II/Verthunder II -> Scatter then Moulinet (AE Melee) to dump mana

Acceleration is the only buff you start with (I think), and should be used if it's up and you're doing your single target rotation.

Personally always liked dps that don't have damage over time skills that you need to keep uptime on, and have rigid rotations that you need to keep skill alignment for.

A lot of people don't like the current iteration of machinist but the set rotation is nice and I hope they keep at least 1 dps like that whenever they reshuffle skills in the next expansion.

Dragoon: positionals, jumping & mobility, aesthetics: heavy armour & polearms

They could add five more jump abilities and I'd be fine with that.

Bard: Even though it is among the worst preforming dps in the game atm, it has my favorite class fantasy of all the jobs, being a singing archer is neat and it has a nice reactive playstyle to it's rotation with all the proc systems. plus I enjoy the illusion of actively buffing my party's damage as a reword for cycling my rotation properly.

Red Mage: I love that's harder to explain then to actually play. It's visually stunning and despite what a certain person around here likes to say, I think they did a very good job of interpreting it in this game. And ofc, like bard, I love the party utility it brings, even if a major part of it is less useful in optimized content.

I just love the way the MCH jumps around when you do certain skills. It's satisfying to watch.

Gotta love RDM's flair and style.
Not for nothing that I started to add /vpose in my rotation in casual content before VerHoly lol. You have to do things with style or not do them at all !
Also this moment that never gets old:

    Healer: *dies*
RDM: I guess i'm in charge now.

    Dancer.

My biggest complaint about the combat in XIV since (not sure about this) Stormblood is the job changes making active party synergy minimal or non existing.
Dancer is one of the few that really provide active synergy, even if most of it is only for the dance partner. This is something I enjoy in offline jrpgs and the one thing I thought 1.X did better. No matter the role, having actions in combat that are reactionary and bring some form of unique synergy with that one job around. I feel like the final nail in the coffin was when they removed NIN threat management actions and things like that.

So yeah I love DNC because it's the only dps I play that doesn't make me feel like I'm still "solo" even in a party.
