Will This Be The Firs Expansion Without Dyeable AF Weapons?

Like many, I was perplexed that the first step of the relic questline for Shadowbringers gave us a full version of the the initial relic instead of empower our level 80 AF job weapons like last time. Now that we're nearing the end of the expansion, we still haven't seen any avenue to upgrade these weapons or at least grant them the ability to be dyed.

So short of the last dungeon of the expac dropping dyeable copies for once or the relic questline ending with us receiving the same models as the AF gear, will this be the first expansion to not allow us some way of dyeing these weapons? I'd be a little disappointed, since all the AF weapons are all very good looking and having the first (and until EW, only) weapons for GNB and DNC not be dyeable would be a real shame.

Don't wait on them, I don't see them making that extreme trial you get the dyeable version from obsolete. Best we can do is request that they don't lock the next AF behind extremes in Endwalker.

I mean, I think the problem with Memoria Miseria EX was that after a few patches no one runs it anymore making it hard to get your AF armor dyed, but I will say despite not being big into EX trials I did run it enough times to get full sets for 5 jobs.

What I'm talking about specifically are the AF weapons like DRK's Shadowbringer, GNB's Lionheart, or DNC's Krishna. I really loved the Lionheart model for my GNB, but disappointed that I can't get another version to dye it so I don't have an exact copy of Thancred or Rostik's gunblade in cutscenes.

I think we will get those in 5.5 when they add the last relic weapon; but if they don't then yes they should look into this.

You should be use to disappointment by now, seeing as you are probably a Tottenham fan judging from your name.

I think MM Extreme was meant to quickly become something you unsync farm, especially with the echo. It's probably not nearly as tough even now, just take in a bunch of red mages for safety.

There's room to add a separate "non-idealised" upgraded version of the relic gear with two materia slots instead of five.

But that doesn't solve the issue of the lack of AF weapons, MM EX only drops coffers for armor.

I think we were supposed to upgrade our AF weapon, then something happened and they decided to just give us its next step right away. It was a pretty weird and effortless first step for a Relic weapon

Maybe the final stage of the relic will somehow be the unweathered version of the AF weapons. Reverse of what they did in Stormblood.

But this isn't the first time relics have been undyeable. The very first relic weapons in the game, the ones that were considered the AF weapons for classes could not be dyed, and neither could the AF armor. As far as I know, those relics still cannot be dyed until they get to the i125 and i135 stages.

I mean, unless I've misremembered. It has been about 7~8 years.
