This is only good if you're a raider. If you're not a raider in that game you can end up feeling alienated. When I stopped raiding in that game I found myself with very little to do that wasn't just a mindless grind.WoW is just the better game overall. They care about their raiders unlike ffxiv.
These words you will never hear from a FFXIV developer:

Raiding doesn't seem like a good "game" concept. You don't see single player games dedicated to something so niche.WoW is just the better game overall. They care about their raiders unlike ffxiv.

Well, as a WoW refuge myself, one difference I have noticed on the forums, is that in the WoW forums, when someone posts an 'I Quit' thread, people will talk positively about FF14 and they will talk about how they are leaving WoW for FF14. Not really seeing any of that here. Maybe it is just because I am a new player and I have not been perusing these forums long and so have not seen the 'I'm leaving for WoW' threads, but over there, they happen quite often.
I already covered a bit of this in that other thread too, but:
Things that FFXIV has:
- Better Story
- Better Crafting/Job System
- Friendlier Community
- Better Player Housing (better than garrisons, so not a high bar)
- Better Dungeons/Trials
- Better Graphics/Player models
Things that WoW has:
- Better Transmog System/Banking/Inventory System
- Better PVP
- Trade Chat
- Better Leveling
- Better Endgame
- Larger Community, albeit more toxic
- In-Game Store that actually works and accepts your payments
- Better Add-ons
- Feels like an MMO
- Better Punishment System (this is newly added)
I would say the main problem with FF14 is the fact that in-game chat is kept to a minimum, because it seems like SE likes punishing players and leaving strikes on people's accounts, resulting in strangely quiet chat most of the time for an MMO. People here also like to bash WoW and Blizz, but like others have said, for serious endgame raiding progression/endgame PVP WoW will fill that niche. Each game has it's strengths but I would say WoW feels closer to an MMO

Yes and no.
The manner in which you store your glam/transmog in WoW is significantly better because the space is unlimited and the library is shared across the entire account.
However the gear models in WoW look severely outdated compared to FFXIV and you can't even dye your gear. I actually found it far more difficult to create an outfit in WoW than in FFXIV, despite having more gear pieces in WoW, because of constantly clashing colours.
There are people who go from FF14 to WoW, but I think it's a very small number compared to the reverse who are flooding into this game from WoW. A fairly significant number of them do return to WoW though or get torn between both for a long time.Well, as a WoW refuge myself, one difference I have noticed on the forums, is that in the WoW forums, when someone posts an 'I Quit' thread, people will talk positively about FF14 and they will talk about how they are leaving WoW for FF14. After enough time they do eventually make a decision, it's just that WoW is good at trying to entice them back (but it's a trap and they usually get disappointed again).
That's if we assume people only play one MMO or the other. There is quite a significant crossover in the playerbases who simply play both and probably always will.
This is a mixed bag. Blizzard has automated bans for a few years now. Very special customers that pay for multiple accounts can force a ban by overwhelming the system by spamming reports on someone.
Wanna know how I know you aren't playing Systemlands?
Great words that ultimately mean nothing. I say that as a long-term player of WoW and a (relatively) newer FFXIV player. This is a constant vicious cycle with Blizzard.
-Give players something
-Realize what was given enables faster progression
-Remove said thing, players complain
-"We hear you", add some half-baked iteration to placate people while never actually fixing the core issue
-Rinse and repeat..
PvP has been practically mandatory content for actual hardcore raiders in WoW. I enjoy PvP, but it's not my endgame, and I'm not going to allow myself to feel forced to do something I occasionally do for enjoyment (described as DIFFERENT endgame) just to do something else. Blizzard claimed each endgame (Raid, M+, PvP) was important but that doing all of them would mean you would have more. Instead, doing PvP made the others easier. That's a problem.
I don't want sweet words that mean nothing. I want honesty.
I agree, the system is superior because it saves every gear of piece you ever collect as long as you can wear it, I give FFXIV a plus for better graphics/player models.Yes and no.

Nah, it's true, 90% of the dungeons in WoW is just tank and spank and ignore mechanics until Mythics, in this game even in normal dungeons you have to actually do mechanics
Hm, I've kinda heard about that but not too familiar with Automated Bans, I know it only takes 3-5 players to report to Auto Mute/Auto Kick from a BG/Dungeon/PVP, but this is temporary. The thing is Blizz CS is pretty damn good, I haven't too many issues with them, and they tend to give out lots of free game time, and they'd likely overturn a false ban. I haven't had to deal with SE CS so I don't know much in that dept
