Hah, I'd just noticed that while rewatching the trailer. It uses the same design as Fran's map, incidentally.

Also, the Anchorite at Corvos intrigues me. From what I know it's the remains of an incredibly large statue on the Ilsabardian side of the Corvos Narrow. The fact that it's pointed out in the world map is what makes me raise an eyebrow.

I don't think people are appreciating the work that would need to be done just to have a fake map that they didn't need to show in the first version of the trailer to begin with if it wasn't the real thing.

And honestly, do you really think that two areas will do the largest known continent on Hydaelyn any justice? Of course it won't. People need to accept that most of mainland Ilsabard won't be coming in 6.0 and they're gonna have to wait a bit longer for that expansion.
Except they've done that before. Starting here, we'd seen the first trailer for Stormblood at FanFest, then at the final FanFest they released that trailer, where the clouds moved first towards Othard and then revealing Hingashi.

Note that even if the whole landmass is revealed it doesn't mean it'll all be explorable. Look at the Othardian map and you'll see PLENTY of places we haven't been to, yet, nor can explore. The Dalvanth Grath, The Knowing Sea, The Unpromised, whatever the heck Blindfrost is. The whole Isle of Koshu in Hingashi. Hell, we've had Thavnair and Old Sharlayan and Aerslaent revealed since Stormblood and haven't set foot in either, yet. We're barely going to Paglth'an in 5.5 as a dungeon when on the Eorzean map it looks about as big as MOR DHONA.

Edit: Also, the Burn looks larger than Yanxia and we still go there... for a Dungeon.

No, that's different. In the Stormblood trailer, they focused on a small area, then zoomed back out and went further east to reveal Hingashi. Here, we're already looking at the entire world map, Ilsabard included.

Also, there's a huge difference in scale between what you're talking about and revealing an entire continent. Firstly, there are landmarks we haven't been to everywhere. Even in Eorzea, we haven't been to the West Shroud or any of the Coerthan Lowlands since 1.0 and most of Eorzean zones have areas between them that we just load through, so there being unvisited locations isn't the issue.

The issue lies in the fact that revealing that areas essentially "locks in" what is where and the landmarks present. Blindfrost, Koshu, and Thavnair are all like a zone worth of area covered, revealing Ilsabard is about an expansion's worth, maybe even more than one given how big it's supposed to be.

Please keep in mind that it took two expansions to see most of Eorzea and the amount of Othard we see is also fairly small (we get to see some of Yanxia and a very tiny sliver of the Azim Steppe, while Nagxia and Dalmasca are completely unexplored outside of a few prominent locales). I don't think the Devs are willing to give up that much worldbuilding real estate just for a completed world map.

To be specific, the Stormblood trailer started with the sparring in Rhalgr's Reach in Gyr Abania, then zoomed out to the world map, panned over to the Far East with a dramatic shot of Ilsabard along the way, and then the clouds over the Hingashi portion of the map receded. (The Othard portion was already uncovered, and we also had a dip into the Ruby Sea.)

So it's entirely possible that the additional footage in the completed Endwalker trailer could have the clouds over Ilsabard recede too, revealing the land underneath. It's also possible this doesn't happen, but as of now, we don't know.
