Well, I have been in several places both in Crystal and Primal and I know what happens, in Crystal we participated in a VERY crowded place in Morbol where some friends (4 lalas) paid a girl for ERP and in the statement they never mentioned from this.

LuckySeven, which is a guild that at the time communicated through the cities in Hyperion, I never participated but my guild mates did and they told me everything. You can put 18+ but in the end you do not control who enters these places or what can be done, there is also no way to verify the age of the people and in the end it ends up returning those guilds that only admit people 18+

If I want, I can ask for names of the places because I have been to many and in all of them it was the same, the only places where nothing ever happened was precisely in places where that 18+ was not and I tell you because we had a PR Bar in Spanish.

Absolutely correct, you can't control it. The events that I host I catalog as 18+ on the RP calendar and within rules where appropriate. None of what I personally do offers ERP, what players arrange with themselves outside of the events is entirely on them. I don't offer dancers, or paid services with courtesans. For years, I ran a bar, and we actively bounced people for pursuing ERP interests in public. Venues take a great deal of risk when directly offering 'services'. There is a demand from the player base, and there is an incredible amount of gil that funnels towards it, so the draw is very real.

My 18+ is a preference, a setting of the tone, I don't even have a NSFW section in the Discord for the largest event I run, and moderators to enforce that fact. Could someone younger get in and participate, sure they could, I won't even pretend otherwise. Will they be able to act like a child and be allowed to stay, no, not at all. I think many venues are this way, and as long as they aren't offering potentially objectionable things, it's fine. The moment you cross that line is where this all breaks down.

Also the only reason you think Fellowship finder is "moot" as you call it is because you don't use it. It's a better feature than PF for finding long term events, so i don't understand your mentality here.

I'm just going to sit here and laugh. I'm at a loss for words reading your replies. My original post had to do with people actually using the PF at their own discretion, given that they have enough common sense to filter it properly. At this point, I don't understand your mentality here because not once did I actually put off that I was better than the next person. The problem is that the community of this game has broken the ERP term a long time ago, I remember a few months ago seeing someone on the other channel promoting a "slave sale" event for sexual purposes where anyone could come and participate.

As I said, in an ideal world it would be as you say, but the community of this game has passed a fine line of ERP.

So basically, you can’t tell if it’s an erp ad or not even if they say 18+/21+.

That just means it’s best to nuke them all from pf since there’s no way for players or gms to tell them apart.

What’s so bad about word of mouth? Go to the venues your friends go to. Search for the venue tag in housing, post hours on the placard. If you’re bored, check with friends of friends for suggestions.

Don’t make the rest (more accurately, the majority) of the community suffer through your publicly-posted erp/erp-by-proxy ads. Even I straight up don’t care as long as it’s private, but advertising a place on pf pulls it straight into the public.

Sorry (not sorry) to dump everyone into one basket, but I don’t really care anymore if people are having spaghetti or textbonking. The ERP scene has gotten so brazen over this expansion I’m perfectly happy to do salted earth if it means they’ll go crawling back to the shadows.

Sorry if you like the spaghetti scene more than the lurid scene, but take it out on the lurids for going exhibitionist. They’re the ones ruining it for everyone else.

Yes you can tell, and if you're not RPing you don't even have business looking at them in the first place. Personally as an RPer, I would employ my common sense. I don't automatically assume 18+ and 21+ means "get the naughty here", especially if the venues advertised are not in any way affiliated with sexual-based activities, a quick FC lookup tells you everything you need to know.

As for your scorched earth policy, let's just get rid of PF altogether. Problem solved entirely, especially with RMT and anyone else using PF for anything other than its 'intended purpose'. No PF? Zero violations. Simple! Oh and everyone looking for a party can just use shout chat, easy-peasy.

5% feels a liiiiiiittle low to me, but i mostly play on Crystal so my sample size may be skewed.

but especially given a lot of people are simultaneously in multiple "communities" (ergo, RPers who also raid or craft etc) 5% feels..... real low, but i'm sure something like this is hard to get actual metrics on. i'd be interested though.
