empathy is rare trait. And when someone close to ‘middle’ read how the other side explicitly or in-explicitly celebrating them getting hurt, there’s a good chance that they also got pushed to the extreme.

More like direct the blame to the management of SE, I'd say. I don't pay my sub so the money can go to a mediocre hallway simulator with cutscenes or a pet project of a director with massive ego that will probably make them lose money. I pay it because I want to play XIV and want to see XIV get more content and QoL.
