I disagree. Words create images. You might not have showed the other person a picture, but you sent them the instructions to produce that picture in their mind.
Okay I haven't read all 74 pages (cause damn) but this looks like a rogue GM to me.
We've had someone that puts up an AFK Club on Aether for years. Never meant anyone couldn't find what they needed on Party Finder. Neither do any other non-grouping advertisements or when we all put up continuous PFs with lines from the Pokemon theme song. So long as it's not slurs or profanity, who gives a fig.
To get into a fellowship it would require advertising which would be the equivalent of A spamming chat in major cities which is frowned upon and found annoying or the passive method of party finders which at that point is redundant the other issue with that suggestion is having every person who likes the RP of an RPg might as well have (lets use 20% as a random number) of a data center in one chat it would be chaos. the party finders it to find a group of people to do content with that content may be RP and not necessarily require the computer code of joining a party much like how hunt groups dont require the people to be in party to enjoy them. This is one aspect of the game and just because it doesn't kill or gather something doesn't mean they are not working towards completion of a goal. Whether if it is to relax in a cafe, have some drinks in a pub, or dance the night away to a dj. Fellowship is as much of an answer as creating a data center chat and would be ineffective at completing its purpose. the party finder using the other section was one way to single out club activities if anything the should probably add a RP Party finder.
Exactly, you don't need images, most states have CMIP or CMIP type laws. Communication with a minor for immoral purposes. Written word alone is enough.
This isnt about ERP this is about RP in general whether if it is a pub or a cafe or dance club they are all effected. on another note talking about naughty stuff is not distributing content. that would be things such as using square to send nude photos and such. Not talking. You could argue that ERP is against the guidelines... I'd even agree with you. I think that there should be other things that take priority over it, like selling clears or flat out RMT... But here's the thing. It isn't just ERP that was hit. Standard, vanilla RP venues were hit... Something Yoshi-P has flat out encouraged to be part of the game. A dude asking for company while fishing got hit. People got hit for stuff that shouldn't be an issue.
- she takes shower ( You all now gonna melt, it's so prohibited here, it's act of RP! Cover Your eyes text has no dress! )
/people got melt from nude text! So Dramatic!
Let's be serious.
I understand reporting for vulgar words used in public, and it is prohibited even irl laws, no brainiac.
But can some one explain me how text can be pornographic? ( no vulgar )
Because people tend to mix RP with pornography, so, just asking.
by oxford dictionary: pornographic
"intended to make people feel sexually excited by showing naked people or sexual acts, usually in a way that many other people find offensive"
Game has no nudity or sexual acts, all what You see is text, it's not real, it's all fiction ( using no vulgar, no prohibited words ) then where is problem?
Those who report some RP must not know that TV has commercials about x pills or "sex protection"
And God forbid using www.google.com, put three letter text! ( actually that one shows real things. Who knew!? )
So you mean to tell me that all those housing scalpers and moguls of XIV's black market realty can post their bs at four times base estate price...and that be there for years regardless of our complaining. Yet we can't advertise roleplaying in an RPG?
lol ok
There is a federal statute as well. Case law on it is interesting. Law doesn't apply, policy does. Policy is 99% of the time focused around the most restrictive laws where they apply.
That aside, the GM overstepped his bounds and that's getting corrected. SE has already issued statements to that fact. Based on the other images that were presented regarding conversations with the GM they were specifically targeting 18+ and 21+ venues. Could this be split in to two threads. Sure, and maybe it would be better that way. I think the root of the problem, even with the GM mess up, is what almost everyone is circling back to... The public advertisement of ERP.
Agree, because these people also mod the game with porn mods. That is what makes Yoshida angry, we don't need Reshade/ACT etc getting banned and anti-cheats (which would have to be kernel level rootkits essentially to be effective) added to the game because of this garbage.

"Taking a shower" is not an example of a problem. The undetailed thought of someone having a shower can be entirely G-rated.- she takes shower ( You all now gonna melt, it's so prohibited here, it's act of RP! Cover Your eyes text has no dress! )

On the other hand, someone describing that they are naked, talking about body parts, doing "interesting things" with them... yes, that can be pornographic entirely through text.
If people want to legally do that in their own time then that's their own business, but it's still something that would be unacceptable to be writing "out loud" in a public area of the game where passers-by could read it.
