Please quote the section of the TOS which contains any provision governing the use of Party Finder.

Except... they aren't. PF has been used to advertise a whole host of different things for years now. I outlined that is my last response to you. This GM has suddenly decided to enforce a rule that has never been enforced prior, and we have conflicting reports from other GMs claiming it's perfectly okay to advertise "venues" using PF.

Here is the thing, the reason why people are up in arms is because this rule was -never- known to exist before, and, if it was an explicitly ERP thing that would have been noted. Social events are by technical merits content as much as a player selling armor in the other tab.
I understand what you are saying but its like saying there is a law against something that no notification was given that it existed and no laws were changed to anyone's knowledge.

Seriously though. mmoRPGs are for roleplaying. Its in the name. If you have to use a party finder to form a party, then all those people playing an RPG without role playing are going to need a warning to.
