I doubt this is an official stance given it's only one GM, honestly. Really hope that it isn't at least.

RP is pretty much the only reason I stay subbed between major patches, because I don't have the energy to do more than that with my work schedule as it is - and PF is the easiest way to find venues. Hell, I tried USING the Fellowship Finder for RP stuff when I first got in the game and it sure wasn't great for that beyond linking me to a discord that posted the events.

Making it harder for folks to find venues to go to doesn't benefit anyone, because venues already use the Other tag. At least they're properly labeled unlike, oh I dunno, the content sellers that are far more egregious with breaching TOS. If RP stuff gets taken down like this, all of those absolutely should be removed as well.

(also hating rp in general isn't a personality, it's just kinda sad. let folks have fun, like c'mon. being rude to people just because they do something you're not big on because it's "cringe" or w/e doesn't make you cool it makes you look like a garbage person)

Non RPer here. I completely agree with you. I get that RP can be cringey or annoying at times if you don't personally partake in it, but some people are just being outright toxic/horrible about it & wanting something removed from the game that others enjoy, just because they don't like it themselves. I hope this mess gets cleared up soon.

As someone who primarily plays this game to raid, this is some wack stuff and the GM is being extremely heavy handed. Who gives a warning for making a PF looking for people to fish with?

Non RPer here. I completely agree with you. Even here on aether its crazy to see like 20 PF's advertising rp houses and other dumb stuff like feet pics for cash etc, honestly rp has no place in this game, it just makes everyone want to actually play the game less and less. It's annoying to see it in pf and the Other tab should definitely be removed entirely and replaced with something like the Barter or Gear/Item selling tab that way the good people who use the other tab like crafted gear/food/pot/ glamour sellers dont get lost in the shuffle with all the crappy erp posts
and honestly im fine with the content sellers, how do we know they are asking for real world money? dont get mad because what they are doing is legit and what you are doing isnt lol
hopefully yoshi p addresses this and is ruthless against erp/rp in the game and kills it for good, fingers crossed for the next live letter

Have you seen the size of the RP community? No place? Why do we have emotes if it's *ONLY* a content game, or flags which clearly indicate "RP". Housing as well, guestbooks and flags that indicate any number of things, including "Immersive Experience". What a waste of development time if there is "No Place", as you put it, for RP in this game. Crawl back to your hole.

this is literally my real account, and im right, if there REALLY has to be rp/erp in game then maybe find others via discord or just talking to people and making your groups not in PF or spamming shout chat in hub cities
at the end of the day rp/erp isnt the intended purpose of the game and either needs to be made something were its completely private and not so out in the open, or outright a bannable offense if the devs feel like it can get out of control

I really do find it funny that people are arguing that Role Playing... has no Place in a Role Playing Game. These are probably the same people that jump around in every dungeon "Because it's Quicker" it's not... It just feels it, that itself can be considered a type of RP.
Or better yet "I need to perfect my Rotation so I can do the most damage" Congrats.. that's something your doing for your CHARACTER. Making it an RP Goal... You might not think it... but yeah. Hell Even having Faction/GC Pride is a form of RP.

A bunch of people in the Roleplay community were behaving the exact same way when it was announced that Ultimate was cancelled; They showed up in twitter threads, reddit posts and forum posts where they didn't belong and mercilessly made fun of people they'd never met for losing out on something they were looking forward to.

I don't agree with what the GM is doing here, but I can't help but be slightly amused seeing a bunch of the very same people who mocked the raiding community on twitter bawl their eyes out over this.

I wonder why they permit Ultimate clear sales and Savage Clear sales, I see persons of same name having done this for years, why do they not take those aside and or well just send a mold to their discord and find out what it is about, and then use their own GM team to tackle this illegal activity that involve RMT.
