Hey RPers, you have my support. I hope this is just some one off GM who's a bit too enthusiastic. And if it's not, that you all get a viable replacement for PF ads.

Also Square, please, please, please crack down on those selling clears. I see those every time I open PF. It's actually made the roulettes tab of PF useless.

Even here on aether its crazy to see like 20 PF's advertising rp houses and other dumb stuff like feet pics for cash etc, honestly rp has no place in this game, it just makes everyone want to actually play the game less and less. It's annoying to see it in pf and the Other tab should definitely be removed entirely and replaced with something like the Barter or Gear/Item selling tab that way the good people who use the other tab like crafted gear/food/pot/ glamour sellers dont get lost in the shuffle with all the crappy erp posts
and honestly im fine with the content sellers, how do we know they are asking for real world money? dont get mad because what they are doing is legit and what you are doing isnt lol
hopefully yoshi p addresses this and is ruthless against erp/rp in the game and kills it for good, fingers crossed for the next live letter

If i want to spent hours in my FC house i paid for, i brought the game game, subscription time, and sank millions into my 2 homes to do so. I think its within my right to advertise and share my home with other players. If they dont like it in PF then they need to create a DC advertisement channel (i mean they could also let us make our own ingame flyers)

Particularly not when, as others have said, fashion accessories and emotes are being added nonstop. And I believe it was mentioned in a PLL that the fashion accessories were intended to be for rpers primarily.
I just don't see this as a company decision. It doesn't make any sense at all.

this is literally my real account, and im right, if there REALLY has to be rp/erp in game then maybe find others via discord or just talking to people and making your groups not in PF or spamming shout chat in hub cities
at the end of the day rp/erp isnt the intended purpose of the game and either needs to be made something were its completely private and not so out in the open, or outright a bannable offense if the devs feel like it can get out of control

There are some really easy fixes that Square can implement to the party finder that would make the vast majority of people happy.

First, add an RP category so RPers and venues can list their advertisements in their own space.

Second, give players the option to filter their results in the All category so the people so bent on abolishing RP in every corner of Eorzea and gets red faced angry at the sight of RP advertisements literally don’t have to see it.

Third, come right out and clarify what “Other” actually means, because it’s clear at least one GM did not get the memo.

If Sqaure is unwilling to do these things, then the very least they can do (as others have mentioned) is be fair across the board. Get rid of the RMT, AFK clubs, crafters selling their stuff, Twitch advertisements, Discord advertisements, feet pics and whatever other ridiculous abuse of the party finder that runs rampant all the time.

One would think notifying the community of a change ahead of time would have been the better course of action before just randomly going nuclear on the situation. Add an rp tab to pf and making it known that multiple listings for the same rp venue wouldn't be tolerated.
