If SE make new online FF do you move there or stick with 14?

i'll be frank, i probably try the new FF online but i dont think i will be excited like i login ff14 for the first time.

because for me it essentially still a same game in a way, i will meet shiva again, riding chocobo again, another tonberry cactuar, another look alike lalafel race, and so on.

i've played ff14 for a long time to the point i cant even get excited for FF16 because the universe and setting look same, even FF7R didnt hook me for long because i feel more relevant by using my own character.

i really hope FF14 will get an engine upgrade in the future, many old games are getting upgrade (wow, bdo "remaster", pso2 with new genesis)

i think at this point the usual excuse "messy spaghetti code" just aren't up for it anymore, pso2 new genesis literally make a new one and they make it so you can transfer your pso2 char to the new genesis complete with most of your belongings

i dont think ff14 will die anytime soon (ff11 still smiling and waving their hand behind ff14 after all) but sooner later they need to do something with the "graphic" department, you cant deny it that in video games, graphic is also one the major key point to sell the game.

I will play new online FF game.

As for 14, as long as it still has new content and enough people to do it (or it's soloable), then I'll also continue with it.

It very heavily depends on the game itself, does it captivate me enough, is it as encompassing as 14, and even if these were true it'd still be difficult if nothing more than the sentimentality value that 14 has for me, the first MMO I have played extensively; the only even, and the second Final Fantasy game I really 'completed'. I remember browsing random games on Twitch out of boredom way back when, and hearing the music in combination with how engaging the game looked, just.. captivated me. So replicating that selfsame feeling would be a difficult thing without it ultimately coming down to "Hey another online FF"

Honestly, I would want it to be less encompassing, but focus more on what it does cover.

For example, unless they can make PVP that the general people would enjoy, I'd rather a new FF MMO not to have PVP and stick to PVE.

Another example, fewer races that will have no trouble with gears. In fact, certain FF games only have playable human characters. So just have one human(oid) race with a lot of customization for that one race and better fitting gears.

personally EW will be my last stand for the game as all my friends moved on and im running out of mains because they keep screwing with jobs and content hasnt gotten better just goes in circles, hopefully after 6.0 they can try new things but EW may be the final chapter for me

Depends what the new game as to offer to be honest. I'll give it a try for sure, but I don't know if I'll leave FFXIV for it, as long as there is content and people playing it at least.

Depends on the gameplay, available classes, and overall setting for me.

If it was a game with a working blue mage or choco knight, and healers were treated like real people that get to play the game too, with time that deserves the same respect as others (rather than feeling like both the devs and the game itself hate you personally)? Yeah probably at this point.

I definitely don't disagree with the sentiment of being more focused with less variety seeing as how people generally only have a small subset of interests compared to what the game offers.. Personally, it works ideal for me because I've always enjoyed dabbling my toes in a wide variety of content if nothing more than to break the monotony of being engaged in a single activity!

I've also had quite the flip with characters over the course of playing. I started as a Hyur, then deviated into a Lalafel just after 3.2 came out, then from Lalafel to Miqo'te after 3.4, then I've just flipped around since.. But that's just me enjoying myself. I could probably equally enjoy a bit more extensive customization though

If they invested in a proper game engine that allowed them to customize and improve the game freely and gave it a decent budget, I'd move without a second thought.

FF14 is a great game but the spaghetti coding is by far the worst limiting factor that affects literally everything. It's more of a sword through the legs for the game than a thorn in the side. Doesn't matter what QoL or feature we ask for, you'll get the same "it would be too hard to code" or "it would strain the servers".

Depends, FFXIV is really good, except the gender locked unfinished races and limited class + blurry textures.

But FF games are my shit so I'll play it for sure.
