Yeah if it's a good MMO, no if it's not.

Yeah if it's a good MMO, no if it's not.
Only if the next MMO is on console.i'll be frank, i probably try the new FF online but i dont think i will be excited like i login ff14 for the first time.
because for me it essentially still a same game in a way, i will meet shiva again, riding chocobo again, another tonberry cactuar, another look alike lalafel race, and so on.
i've played ff14 for a long time to the point i cant even get excited for FF16 because the universe and setting look same, even FF7R didnt hook me for long because i feel more relevant by using my own character.
i really hope FF14 will get an engine upgrade in the future, many old games are getting upgrade (wow, bdo "remaster", pso2 with new genesis)
i think at this point the usual excuse "messy spaghetti code" just aren't up for it anymore, pso2 new genesis literally make a new one and they make it so you can transfer your pso2 char to the new genesis complete with most of your belongings
i dont think ff14 will die anytime soon (ff11 still smiling and waving their hand behind ff14 after all) but sooner later they need to do something with the "graphic" department, you cant deny it that in video games, graphic is also one the major key point to sell the game.

If it washes out the re-build that FFXIV still suffer under then yes, but also if they just enhance the current game to topend state of the art, I would definately go with that as well.

Honestly when they said they were going to end FFXIV I got so excited because I thought that meant a new MMO would be coming out. Alas...it wasn't what I thought and it was just the current story arc.
I want them to dump 14 personally or relegate it to 11 status. Because we've been hearing excuses for bad engine, coding, technical limitations as reasons we can't have what we want forever. I don't want to hear about technical limitations anymore personally. If it affects development so much I'd rather they make a new mmo. And I'm sure they are making one in the back end or planning stuff. But I doubt we'll hear anything about it until 14 drops player base or it gets near completion status.
If they're still using the same old combat/gearing system then no.

Well how i say it?, im not happy with the current state of the game to be honest, my fav job DRK gameplay gutted and the decadence on the battle content in terms of cuantity/durability and quality of jobs/roles gameplay due simplification and fight desings affecting specially tanks and healers compared to other expansions really make me have a negative opinion of Shadowbringers but i hope they do better on Endwalker, if not i just leave the game.
So if SE come and offer a new final fantasy MMO with a trinity system wich is saved from all the spaghetti code and all the theorical limitiations they seems to have with ffxiv to work on it yeah i would move and try it without any doubt and see how evolves but if Ffxiv just fix all the current problems i have with the game then it would be a hard choice and the new MMO should be really good to make me fully move to it instead of stay on 14.

I can't say if I'd play their next MMO without knowing anything about it lol.
And who even knows when it would happen. SQEX currently has FF11, DQX, and FF14 going. At least one of those would have to end first.

I wouldn't play a new Final Fantasy Online unless Yoshi P was at the helm, and he's already stated he is sticking with this one for the long haul.
The leadership transition between FFXIV 1.0 and A Realm Reborn showed us all and the world how important and impactful a really good game director can be , regardless of how shiny and new something is, especially something like a MMO which requires far more care and attention over longer periods of time.
And it would be really hard for me to let go of this long journey, so I feel like instead of making a new Final Fantasy online mmorpg and starting all over, I'd rather see them try and undertake what SEGA is currently doing with Phantasy Star Online 2, where they are creating a new game world with next-gen graphics and mechanics, but the characters from the current PSO2 transfer over and can jump between both game versions whenever they want.
Journey to all fish: 1383/1729 (348 remaining) [79%]

I'd rather see a XIV-2, with improved coding so they can actually do stuff without being limited by an almost decade-old patch job over a failed game.

I'm still hoping for a 2nd calamity come 6.1.
YoshiP even said in an interview once he'd love to have one again. That spaghetti code excuse is starting to wear thin.
