I think their point is 85% have it, which is 125k characters. But 125k characters is not 85% of xivs population. It's not even 85% of NAs datacenters.
Which means the ultimate clear rates can't be anywhere close to accurate.

Exactly, also just from other achievement sites (like steam or playstation) anything that isn't like "start the game, do this easy task" that is above 50% is rapidly approaching "that statistic is full of chocobo dung". Although I don't think those sites are claiming the whole population, I think they're just going off of their own audience (which is fair and fine). Recent lucky bancho statistic said only 60% of the player base was past 5.3 lol, that's 60% that they consider active too (so it's already inflated by taking out people who don't meet their requirements, although part of that is good so we don't have people who made a character and left instantly or too much bots xD).
Edit: They didn't hide it, I just didn't see it right away but you can see they have data on 134,256 characters (so indeed they're most likely pulling from those who go to check out the data, completionists and the sort, it's a very nice big data set but it's also bias'd strongly to a particular type of player).

Losing ultimate is going to affect players that don't participate in it. It's a huge marketing event, and the loss of players and subscriptions they pay is going to hit them in the future.
Not to mention the loss of subscription the players that were looking forward to, and had prepared for, the 5.5 ultimate.
Aspirational content is going to naturally have a low clear rate, but just because few people actually clear it doesn't mean its loss isn't going to impact you.

Maybe they should only have one ultimate at the end of the expansion cycle.

I suspect a lot of these high-end Pveers won't even bother subbing as much anymore to prep. I hope they have something else, that's actually implemented well, planned that can placate that audience, but this is probably really disheartening to hear. On top of that, like others stated, he "wants" to do two, SE might not even actually do two ultimates during EW!Losing ultimate is going to affect players that don't participate in it. It will impact a certain subset of hardcore and ultimate raiders, and a certain subset of streamer fans, and that's about it.Losing ultimate is going to affect players that don't participate in it. I've yet to meet anyone who has been brought into the game because of someone else doing ultimate, with no plans to raid themselves

On the chance you're not trolling, I just genuinely don't understand why you're here.
You said in your last thread that you were furious that you'd "wasted your time getting gear for the ultimate", so you clearly don't care about any battle content except these standalone fights, which, even when they are on schedule would come out every 8-12 months. So you can't just trash all other content including the story in here and say "it's the battle content that matters!" if even savage is a waste of your time because it doesn't serve a greater purpose. Even if Ultimate was on schedule, how on earth do you justify paying your sub exclusively for it? AND you said you have a house, so you clearly don't sub only when an ultimate is available. There are better, less pricey ways of getting a difficult multiplayer content fix than this. I mean this sincerely, unless you have money coming out of your ears I don't understand why you play. And for the record this is not me offering my opinion on the schedule of ultimate content or its priority, or white-knighting, rather questioning why OP is so overwhelmingly upset about it over several threads, when seemingly everything else in the game is irrelevant to them.

$15 bux a month is literally nothing and knowing I'm helping stop new 18+ clubs makes it it all worth itOn the chance you're not trolling, I just genuinely don't understand why you're here.
