I know how frustrating and time consuming this whole stuff can be and yes autoclickers are an easy target for your anger. But ppl should think a bit further, they are just symptoms the real one to blame is SE, even if they don't like to hear it. If SE had come up with a better system, nothing of that would happen in the first place.

Are you actually defending botting and violating the ToS and just blame SE for people doing it? The only people that defend botting are people that use them. People who don't generally strongly dislike them. Either that or you're the most wishy-washy person I've ever seen. Either way, you may want to reconsider your stance on the matter.

If you don't like my point of view that's not my issue, i stand to my opinion and there is nothing to reconsider. Of course i don't encourage ppl breaking the TOS, i just said i can understand everyone who uses this kind of stuff and i hold no grunge against them nor will i ever report these kind bots. I simply tolerated them and yea i really think that a part of this whole issue is SEs own fault.

Well if you have the possibility to get a plot the normal way this is very good and should of course also been the first choice. But like i said, not everyone has this option, everyone deserves a chance to get a plot and if you cant do that the normal way because of RL circumstances you need to find a solution.

Not having as much time as others to devote to house hunting / placard clicking does not mean one doesn't have a chance.
Literally every player that can click on a placard has the chance to get a plot "the normal way," and just because some players have less time to click doesn't mean that it's ok for them to bolster their chances with illegal 3rd party software.
There are no RL circumstances that justify cheating.

We all pay the same sub, so why should a part of the community be blocked out of the content they are paying for?

You are not paying for a house.
You are paying for access to the servers, that's it.
No one is entitled to a house, or to any piece of content really.
And feeling otherwise doesn't justify cheating.

Besides even using an autoclicker don't gives you that much better chances, so there is no real reason to get to mad about these ppl.

Autoclickers provide an advantage. You say it's only a small advantage? Doesn't matter. If anything, that just highlights how foolish it is to break the ToS for one.

If someone is cheating that's reason enough to be mad at them. Especially when they come to the forums later feeling victimized.

SE made a shitty system, yes.
But if someone use a bot that's on them.
No one forced them to cheat.
Pointing fingers and shifting blame isn't gonna make anyone friends.
Cheating is still bad.

You sympathize with people who cheat. You can fluff up the statement all you want, but it boils down to that. And you're definitely in the minority on that. It's called "cheating" for a reason. Y'know, giving unfair advantage over others in the same position? How can anyone understand cheating in a multiplayer game? You should take a moment to think about why you think it's okay to cheat. Don't tell me, tell yourself.

There once was an exploit that rmt used that would auto-buy stuff when people were near the marketboard, they patched it pretty quick obviously. Thats why I still dont carry all my gil around.

Im not sure I understand how this one worked, can you elaborate? Unless you or someone else already has.

This issue existed for years now and SE knows that, but they are unable or unwilling to provide an acceptable solution for everyone (they where already different topics about that in the general forum).

Does the system suck? Yes.

Should the system sucking mean it's okay to literally cheat and deny someone else because of that cheat? NO

You keep using this argument that some people don't get as much time to play, or some RL situation keeps them from obtaining the plot through legit means. The problem though is by using this third party software, you are able to increase the timeframe you can camp to (if properly coded) 24/7. I have seen housing bots that literally, every hour on the hour, check all the housing zones and find an open plot to camp.

Now I don't know about you, but I don't know any legit person that can do a 24/7 housing camp. So are you arguing if someone has to spend more time at work (as an example), they are now entitled to having a system camp for them for longer and better than any human being? I don't see how that makes it okay. You're basically dismissing all the time and effort people have to put in to get those houses.

So, yes, I am in fact going to dislike the bot. I hate bots, and the fact they get to run around freely however much they want horribly irritate me (The only reason I pick here over wow at this point is WoW's is somehow even worse.) If I had the ability to, I would perm ban every bot, and anyone who ever supports using that like you are doing. Sadly, I can't, I'm not Japanese, so I can't join that task force of 3 people.

Tl;dr, having less time to play does not make you more entitled, on anything. It's a stupid argument.

Not that I’ve done if, but I don’t personally consider using a scripted program to auto click on the placard ‘cheating’. The way the system is right now is SE’s fault, and only SE should be blamed for making players go to extreme lengths (one extreme; clicking a placard for 14 hrs, another extreme, coming up with an automated script). It’s silly to point fingers and say that using a script is worse than ruining your health and losing your sleep over a virtual house. The housing situation in itself is just ridiculous and laughable. As someone who has some experience in coding, and who is programmed to think “how can i devise a system to gain efficiency/not waste time”, my first thought when I heard of the housing situation was “k, might as well write a script?” Not saying that I’ve done it or would even do it, but the way I see it SE is more to blame than players. If you wanna ban players for using a script to get around a badly designed aspect of the game, ban the players who are also standing in the same spot 14 hours clicking manually. No difference to me.

If you respect yourself; you’ll come up with a script.
If you respect the game; you’ll click on the placard.
If you respect yourself and the game, you’ll wait for the system to improve before attempting to get a house.

PS: nothing i’ve said above applies to other situations for using a bot, that’s not okay, i don’t support it, etc

This is just being self entitled. There are not enough houses and most players want them. So you don’t get a house? Same as a lot of players. It sucks but yes the OP is to blame, regardless of SE’s poor servers.

Once again, difference of opinion. I don’t consider it self-entitlement, I consider it playing the system. Note: I don’t celebrate it, nor do I encourage it. I’m simply saying I understand why people do it. Using a script or standing for hours clicking are just two sides of te same undesirable coin. It shouldn’t be a thing. Yet it is. Both these things happen for a reason.

I respect the game, but I also respect myself, so I would personally would never do this.
I also don’t think we should put people who spent 14 hours clicking on the placard on a pedestal, and use that as an example of a “hard working” player.
