Not that I’ve done if, but I don’t personally consider using a scripted program to auto click on the placard ‘cheating’. The way the system is right now is SE’s fault, and only SE should be blamed for making players go to extreme lengths (one extreme; clicking a placard for 14 hrs, another extreme, coming up with an automated script). It’s silly to point fingers and say that using a script is worse than ruining your health and losing your sleep over a virtual house. The housing situation in itself is just ridiculous and laughable. As someone who has some experience in coding, and who is programmed to think “how can i devise a system to gain efficiency/not waste time”, my first thought when I heard of the housing situation was “k, might as well write a script?” Not saying that I’ve done it or would even do it, but the way I see it SE is more to blame than players. If you wanna ban players for using a script to get around a badly designed aspect of the game, ban the players who are also standing in the same spot 14 hours clicking manually. No difference to me.

If you respect yourself; you’ll come up with a script.
If you respect the game; you’ll click on the placard.
If you respect yourself and the game, you’ll wait for the system to improve before attempting to get a house.

PS: nothing i’ve said above applies to other situations for using a bot, that’s not okay, i don’t support it, etc

This is just being self entitled. There are not enough houses and most players want them. So you don’t get a house? Same as a lot of players. It sucks but yes the OP is to blame, regardless of SE’s poor servers.

Once again, difference of opinion. I don’t consider it self-entitlement, I consider it playing the system. Note: I don’t celebrate it, nor do I encourage it. I’m simply saying I understand why people do it. Using a script or standing for hours clicking are just two sides of te same undesirable coin. It shouldn’t be a thing. Yet it is. Both these things happen for a reason.

I respect the game, but I also respect myself, so I would personally would never do this.

Sure. Rules are rules, I can respect them, and it’s my fault if I break them. Doesn’t mean I can’t think differently or have certain opinions.

I'm not sure how you've come to the idea we do...
Between everyone encouraging each other to take breaks, stating we're not supposed to spend 14 hours clicking on a placard, and encouraging each other that we can get houses without resorting to such tactics and impacting our health... I've never gotten the impression we put such unhealthy practices "on a pedestal."

I think the answer to this whole discussion is:

It’s ‘not okay’ to click for hours, it’s ‘not okay’ to use a script. Both things shouldn’t happen, but they will keep happening until system is changed. Etc.

Which is against the rules, against the TOS. Which is why OP is likely to get banned.

And hearkening back to your previous post:

It is also why someone 'standing in the same spot 14 hours clicking manually' won't get banned. Because there actually is a difference. One party, the one using a script/autoclicker, is explicitly breaking the rules. The other party, the person standing next to the cheater, using no scripts or 3rd party software of any kind, manually clicking.. is not breaking any rules. The system sucks.. but that's no excuse for breaking the rules and making a bad system even worse for those who don't cheat.

I think you should go back and read all my other posts instead of nitpicking on the ones where I did, indeed, badly word my thoughts. So this is the last time I’m adding to this conversation because by now it’s being ridiculous, and I don’t tolerate being called a cheater because I don’t feel as strongly about an issue as you or everyone else who hates bots with a passion.

I agree with everyone else that using autoclickers is against the rules so yes, you should be banned and punished if you use them. That doesn’t mean I will judge people as harshly as you because they did use one. Given the situation it’s to be expected, and I understand how someone can be desperate enough to use an autoclicker or spend hours clicking manually. I think you shouldn’t be doing any of those things, but if you do consequences are yours to deal with.

From the beginning I’ve been saying that if you respect the game and you respect your sanity, you should avoid trying to get a house with the current system. But I guess no one read that part of my posts.

I would hazard a guess that most people doing it the correct way do feel it's cheating.
