All I know is I don’t buy fandaniel putting all of those towers around the world. They had to have always been there; we just didn’t notice them.

That's my guess too. The technology looks more Mhachi than Garlean or Allagan. I'm betting they're a couple thousand year old but buried and inactive til now.

Thing is we only really know of 4? towers (I have not gone around the game world to check) - 1 by Gyr Abania, 1 near Limsa Lominsa, 1 over in the forest, and 1 out East. Are there anymore?

Another point against them being old is that they do not look old. They use current Garlemand (sorry, my spelling is terrible today lol) appearance - note how the NPC's all comment on how they don't look Allagan or anything else, but they look like the empire's construction.

There are six towers that we know of. South Shroud, Southern Thanalan, Outer La Noscea, The Lochs, Yanxia, and the Dravanian Forelands.

And like I said above, personally I think they look Mhachi.
