If only the devs had stayed true to that concept art. What's interesting about Au Ra women concept art is that they were originally more demonic in appearance. Which is why when the finalised design for them was revealed... it just disappointed me.
So yeah. Again, I hope the female Hrothgar are given the same treatment as the males.

I joined in late HW, I never saw those concepts about Auri. It always seems off to me how the Male and Female do not fit together. I wish we had strong dragon females instead of lil-pop girls. In the end, my issue with FF14's dimorphism has to do with how all the women options do end up being cute or attractive in some form. Roegadyn women might not be popular, but the fact of the matter is that they do not have the huge, exaggerated barrel shape the men do. To say nothing of the Au ra, where we have huge, fierce looking men and the women are dainty and half their size. And as mentioned in the thread, women options in general do not allow the WoL to be middle aged or older. (If you're an NPC, then there's a grandma face, I guess.)
Some of us just want variety that doesn't still fall into 'hot jrpg babe'!! And since we're dealing with a beastly race, a concern is that they'll make the women... very human (on top of the rest), in an already very human lineup, because to be otherwise isn't attractive.
But if female hrothgar can avoid this concept (that FF14 already barely dodged)... I won't have a fit, haha.
The art looks amazing
... I quoted wrong person and thanks to phone, can not edit... ehhh never mind
"crushed" implies weight and the internet takes that into being "THIC" when speaking of females. Which even a grade schooler can draw better than what visual options we have for females in game EVEN with 2Butts. Plus Femroe have a similar disproportionate arm>thigh ratio circumference across all females that isn't even that wide of a gap to make them feel rounded as a RoeBro with their simpler shading of muscle definition looking like square/squishy red/green marshmallow men. Hrothgar took the Roe body and gave them a more triangular definition for their waist which is not only a trope in a "masculine" build, but most exotic wild cats(both genders) have bigger upper builds to compensate for their larger organs and ribcages to support their larger/heavier bodies. The later is definitely not their motive for what they done, but it shows there are many possibilities to create body positive race designs that anatomically "fits" while pleasing everyone(spaghetti code be nuked). Which sadly get held back by self defeating design/marketing bias.

How about for the best of both sides, have that Misija "custom" body be a hint for Femroes update to look like the taller "thiclanders"(they're laughably not) they dreamt of being so their tiny hats can look .5% cuter. We will gladly take that "MAN looking" bod off your hands and put it to better use.
In the mean time, lets have some "dead fem hrothgar" stand up to break the cycle *pokes mic* So I was walking down the street...

Oh, my bad. I was thinking more in terms of getting my spine cracked like a glowstick.
If we're showing off artistic interpretations again, I'm a fan of this korean artist's take on female hroth: monk | scholar | both. (Linked directly, to respect the 'no re-upload' on their page.)
I'm well aware the monk's build isn't viable in FF14 at all, but a girl can at least hope they look somewhat solid.
*Gasps* and they were girlfriends..Oh, my bad. I was thinking more in terms of getting my spine cracked like a glowstick.

I have to agree those are some really lovely f hroths.
Believe it or not, femininity isn't only defined by looking like a skinny anime girl who can barely lift a leaf.
I, for one, welcome the arrival of big, muscle ladies.

I was thinking the same. Its just the community/user says one thing when the internet/status quo already muddied that word with a completely different meaning. Its their fault for not elaborating. Femroes don't look like they can crush anything(be it thicness or physicality, with the later compared to IRL female body builders/athletes), they can't even down a small toast of ale heartily >>. You would think Misija would be decking people with tank busters road roller style (jojo).
Those arts are GORGEOUS and I believe a fantastic blend of beauty and power even with the scholar. Just because the monk isn't "viable" doesn't mean you can't criticize the devs for not thinking ahead before releasing ARR with how chaotic the 1.0 coding will ruin any implementation of mechanics or QOL features especially with player races in the future. That build looks better with a possible fem hrothgar than what femroe(or female orcs from Raid Shadow Legends lol) did with it.
Are these more references to au ra? Which I have never personally brought up first in here? It's getting old, can we talk about female hrothgar?
I know for sure femininity isn't defined as being a 7 foot tall muscled she-hulk. That's for sure.
