There's a difference between wanting something and actively being anti something else, posting that reaction and the meme reply afterward is kinda the laziest "protest" you can have (Plus, every female race in this game is someone's "waifu" as it's a subjective term by definition. Just means you find them attractive/cute in a romantic sense).

I respect people want different things. I personally think it defeats the purpose of making a female cat person if you're going to take a vaguely feminine cat head and slap it onto Dwayne Johnson's body. But it literally takes no effort to refrain from reacting to that when ever I see something like that posted as I don't care about policing what other people want nor displaying displeasure at seeing people want something I don't.
I focus more on sharing things I find and looking at examples of what I like from what people share online, this thread has a strange trend where people focus more on signal boosting what they are against.

Im using the term Waifu in a weird way, I forgot where I saw it, but it also describes humanization, or Anthropomorphism which can be applied in different ways.

They made the Lupin, and they put in the Bangaa and the Seeq. There are plenty of different ways they could have played this.
Could have updated the models and added some new customization options. They easily did something Dog faced, and then some.

Me and a friend are actually hopeful if the future allows it somehow, that we could still see Playable Bangaa

If they were already planning on no-hats, then any kind of animal face wouldn't have been an issue. I just see more cats and sleep on it.

As much as I want this, it may not happen for FF14 at least. Fingers crossed for an Ivalice MMO as FF17 though, since that off the bat gives us a bunch of races and jobs to play as and choose from.

No, 99% of all the pictures I post here is furry/Tabaxi/Famous ip-fan-art, so it doesn't mean anything if someone whines about it not being of their liking seeing as the artist never made those works with the intention of depicting "Female Hrothgar" and may not even know about this game.

This, however, was someone's art who was excitedly awaiting news on Female Hrothgar like the rest of us. She actually plays this game (as seen on her twitter) and decided to become 1 of the tiny handful of people who take pen to paper to share their idea of "female Hrothgar" with the world. I thought it stood out for trying to incorporate the body hair of the chest/shoulders/forearms that the males have which most artist completely disregard, so I shared it.

Tis why I said "That's not very nice". If she decided to visit this thread (possible seeing as she does play the game) and saw your meme or the "Stop doing this sh*t" meme as a reply to it I'm sure that wouldn't feel very good. And for what, it takes zero energy to just ignore some art. But then again I come from an art background, so maybe I can't expect people to have more tact when reacting to other's art work. Guess I shouldn't actually post "Female Hrothgar Fan-art" seeing as it's been clear that a number of people in here have a rigid vision of what they feel they should look like ... and though twitter is a much larger platform these people didn't decide to share their visions here.

No, calling something your "Waifu" legit just means you wanna wife it aka you're romantically attracted to them. They are commonly fictional 2D characters associated with anime.

I think you don't understand the point of that example. It was not to open a dialog about body shapes, it was me pointing out how I know how to mind my on business and not act like a child when I see art that doesn't match my desires. Perhaps you can learn from that. Or not, you do you boo boo.

The reason they can't wear hats as nothing to do with the shape of their face or head, it's the mane.
(this hat mod fits perfectly, but Hrothgar manes don't seem like a thing the devs made to have hat models.)


There are a number of face gears that would be far harder to make work on a dog face than they are now on Hrothgar though. That's at least my assumption.

Anyway, back on the topic of the genders, I was talking about the expac with my friends and an interesting thought came to mind.

YP straight up said that this is it for him, he sees FF14 as his life'c work and intends to do everything he can for it moving into the next 10 years. If they want this game to hit 20years the chances of them doing a massive overhaul to the engine seems pretty damn high. And if a new FFMMO isn't coming and this is it for the next decade then I feel like the chances of them making Female Hrothgar and Male Viera are much higher. I've mostly been thinking "Maybe in the next MMO" but it seems like YP is all in on driving this bad boi for a decade more, and I don't see them leaving this issue just out there for a decade.

Yeah, it's been my ongoing theory that the Art we have of them is to be taking as 100% their core vision of them and that they don't have hair just like female lions don't have manes compared to the males (But the trade-off would be that they can wear hats as the only reason I can see as to why the males can't wear hats is the fact that the devs really don't want to take away the mane as they are "lions").


So I've been paying more attention to finding bald female cats to show how they don't need hair.
