And some people came up short during the splitting, that's not exactly "fair" as much as it is sensical business. It's just what it is. Find another game then, if the only peak of interest is the Savage Raids and possible Ultimates, then you will run out of content to do quickly and you probably would be off with a game that constantly challenge you, you need to play EvE Online, it is one of the only games you can keep on being challenged the way you want to be challenged, plus if you lose something there, it is lost...

I am sitting here with +20.000 hours in FFXIV, and I am not running out of content, actually I am behind in certain fields as too busy with everything else.. this year I did not get to farm Extremes for an instance, due to the little interest in the mount, previous expansions I did... maybe I will get into savage in next expansion, also something I barely have had time for even though got overwhelming too many hours put in this game.

The housing system with the auto demolition timer exist due so the next one in line can get a chance to get a house if someone STOP playing for a couple of months, if people are dying, we having massive Natural disasters and such, then SE has been known to lock down auto demo times and more for a period of time, but as you state it, lack of content, is simply not enough.

    1. Play 6-9 The Coils Savage on minimum Ilevel + No Echo - Should keep you active for quite a while.
    2. A massive world or Eureka, if never did any of that, you could do that, yes I know it is not for everyone, but it is a suggestion.
    3. PvP Achievements, also a good time sink, and you get to see other things of the game.
    4. POTD to 200 Dead Solo or with Friends, or the other one from 1 to 100.
    5. Complete any other Savage on minimum ilevel required + No Echo.

And make no mistake, people like myself who play more than the average person, have been subscribed for years and use their houses a lot will keep their houses regardless of what happens. It's about whether or not SE is willing to give us some leeway or not in the upcoming months.
Leeway because they've had to delay the Ultimate?

    Oh, please.

No, we players are not at fault for covid. So anyone that wants one should get a $180 credit from SE to take 2021 as a vacation from ff14.

Oh wait, SE is also not responsible for covid. Maybe we should send them 180 dollars apiece just to help them through this hard time.

Oh, wait, neither SE paying us for covid or us paying SE for covid makes any sense at all.

You want to talk strawman, I never said anything like this. I said your suggestion made no financial sense, I never brought morality into it.

You can take the hiatus, but you have to come back without a house. Or you can take the hiatus, but continue to pay your sub and enter your house twice and keep it.

Take your 3-4 month break, but in no world does you wanting a break mean SE owes you $45-$60. Why don't you send them 60 bucks for their hardship? Don't want to? Neither do they.

How many people clear those anyway? 2%? And half of them are party finder purchases. Almost no chance OP or anyone posting here touches this content.

I'll support SE crediting 3 months to all triple-legend title holders since they are the only people being deprived of content. In fact, let's shoulder the cost ourselves. $10 subs for anyone clearing ultimates, subs go up to $20 for everyone without all 3 clears.

That's the entire point of my post, and incidentally, my plan.

And FYI, I will have cleared all the content already once I finish things up over the next couple of months (min ilvl when it was relevant for the most part). I have no interest in Achievement hunting. I also don't think people doing old rehashed content is a good argument, anyways (for a variety of reasons). And for the record, I also don't think leeway should be given only for people like me. This has been a pretty dry battle content expansion overall, it could be a nice gesture for a larger portion of the player base as well.

Don't forget only 2 Bozja zones vs 4 Eureka, no deep dungeon this expansion, 3 fewer dungeons this expansion, and lastly one fewer ultimate fights. That's months worth of content in an expansion that's going to be dragging on for longer than usual. I get it, shit happens, but for battle oriented players it's been a heavy drought.

Again, nobody asked for 180$ credit.

I was talking about the general vibe/feedback in the thread, not you specifically. Should have made it clearer.

This is indeed the current state of affairs, I'm here asking SE to temporarily change that. I never said that they had to, or that they owed it to us.
I'm here making an appeal to them, debating that it would be a nice gesture and potentially good practice/service/PR/whatever. Whether they see it that way is up to them.

Like I posted higher up. It's more than just Ultimate missing from the battle content this expansion. Also, Ultimates aren't just about people who clear. A lot of people spend months on it without the clear, they count too. And, sadly, running past Ultimates can lose it's appeal because of this very fact, even though attempting a newer ultimate retains its appeal for these players. (and partially justifies their subscription)
While we're at it, if you'll allow me to be a little pedantic, the number is also higher than 2%. I believe ucob and uwu were 3% clear at the time and I remember reading that tea was cleared magnitudes more than those (it was a flat 5% of total players at the beginning of last year). If you're interested in more stats there were about 5.5k triple legends around the middle of last year as well.
Considering that about 5% of players finished eureka, those numbers are pretty good and imply that a lot of players also try their hand at it without getting the clear.

Regardless of all that, I'm not here appealing for triple legends or ultimate players only. I'm asking for a more generalized approach since we're also missing a bunch of other battle content. And preferably, a solution that only concerns people who were looking to cancel their subs in the first place.
But if you want to lower my sub cost, go right ahead

The OP might well touch Ultimate. I know several players who like to try but will never get a clear. OP might even be one of the few who manages to get a clear, I'm not into digging around someone else's achievements or FFLogs to try to discredit things they say.

But Ultimate is only a tiny part of the overall content of the game. Someone who plays the game primarily for it is someone who has only played for 6 months out of the past two years. They don't need to a house in a game they aren't playing outside of an Ultimate release.

The game has plenty of other content worth sticking around for. If the OP doesn't want to stick around, then they don't need to keep a house. An apartment will serve them just as well if not better because an apartment won't demo.

    Again, so what?

Do you already have all your completed Resistance Weapons? Of course not, they can't be completed yet. But as a hardcore combat player, I'm sure you don't want to miss out on getting your BIS for the expansion.

Have you cleared Delubrum Reginae Savage yet and started your reclears for the additional rewards? I know a couple of groups have managed to clear it already. Surely being the hardcore combat focused player you are, you've joined a group actively working to get a clear.

Dungeons are only unique content the first time you run through them. If you can't clear the dungeon the first time through, there's no way you should even be touching Ultimate. Once you're on repeat mode one dungeon is pretty much the same as another, offering the same stale useless rewards. Not certain how someone who's an Ultimate capable player would even care about dungeon that present zero challenge to their skill.

You're starting to sound less and less like the hardcore combat focused player you want us to think you are and more like someone grasping at straws trying to keep your real primary content (being AFK in a house) from being taken from you while you go blow your subscription money on Genshin or something similar for several months.

Fortunately, SE isn't going to cut your any slack anymore than they cut any player slack over their perceived lack of content complaints. It's a MMO. MMOs always have content gaps and there there are hundreds of thousands of players who still enjoy the content already released enough to continue to pay for their subscription during those gaps.

You don't need leeway anymore than any other player does.

Expecting Tenats to look after your property while you go on hatius is just not right. I can see people losing their home cause the tenat dont enter the house to reset the demo timer then going after the tenat for compensation.

Stereotyping much? lol. Especially considering you just admitted not knowing anyone who fits this demographic.

Like I said, in this expansion, there has been a significant amount of content delayed or simply not implemented (over a variety of categories). And the expansion is expected to extend for a longer period than usual. So in that sense, no, there isn't much other content worth sticking around for. And make no mistake. I and others like me won't stick around and will not lose our houses. No matter what. So your dreams and aspirations are going to fall short. This isn't about allowing us to keep our houses as much as it is making a gesture to make the process less tedious/costly (I'd settle for either). Temporarily and exceptionally, might I add.

Again, like I said previously, I'm looking to wrap the current content up within the next couple of months. That includes the BLU content I'm currently on, new Bozja content, and the couple of extreme mounts I'm missing.
And although I can't speak for everyone, I'm going to make the educated assumption that "hardcore combat" players don't care for relic stats much outside of niche cases. And certainly don't care for them on expansion releases where they'll be replaced within 2 days.
Relic weapons and gear are mainly for glam, and for gearing whichever alt classes are lagging behind. (Plus inv space is a rare commodity). I will grab the ones I like when I come back ahead of the expansion release, which is when I plan to tie loose ends (missing mounts, story quests, relics, bozja zones. etc.). As will many, I'm sure.

Well, you've made your position clear quite a while ago. It's fortunate for me that you don't work for SE now isn't it? Hopefully, their customer service will be a little more considerate than you are.

I've been subscribed for over 4 years now on this account, I've never taken a hiatus. I am planning on taking one exceptionally, given the slow expansion. That's all there is to it. And yes I don't think I should lose something I've used so extensively over the past however many years and plan on keep using in the future, all for a 3-4 month hiatus due to exceptional circumstances. I'll subscribe every other month and visit my house if I have to. But I think it would be a nice gesture if SE could come up with a temporary quality of life improvement until the expansion hits. Simple as that.

Of course there's a risk. I'm not attached to this idea per se. I'm open to other suggestions. I just think it would be good practice. Whether or not it's something they would consider is up to them. I'm just posting here to offer my perspective and hope that some eyes look at this and at least consider something of the sorts.

How many ever years you've subbed to the game gives you no more seniority over a fresh sprout. You are just another sub number like anyone else. There have been plenty of other lulls in game content before this, and the game went on as normal, no amount of begging and pleading and hoping for special treatment is going to convince the devs otherwise to just let you take a break and keep your house. You want your house, you keep paying for your sub so you can keep the auto-demolition timer from claiming it. Why should people disappointed in ultimate delay get any special treatment over other players?

I think you're missing my point. I'm not using my "seniority" to justify my point. I just served it up as another perspective.

And just to be clear. Despite having entertained this thread, I don't really care what position random players care to take on this. This -is- the Housing forum after all, so it's no surprise that many would be averse to anything of the sort. I'm just making an appeal to SE. They can be the judge and jury. They're the ones who have the numbers, are dealing with the feedback, and are making the decisions.

I'm well aware nothing could come of it. But I posted because I felt like this "lull" extends beyond the usual battle content lulls we've had in the past and that are typically expected from an MMO. Especially since this expansion was already lower in battle content than usual and gave us way more time to do said content. If you don't feel that that is the case. Feel free to voice it, it'll probably go over my head but it bumps my thread in the process.
