Also on this sentence in particular, you're aware the majority of people in the game don't even have over 1.5m gil? They're not cheap at all. If you can easily afford a large on your own, then you're not representing the majority of the playerbase. I'm personally in your situation but am aware of how we are incredibly fortunate compared to the majority of others. They don't need to be more expensive, I'm sorry to say because then ultimately wards would sit empty for months unless people resulted to RMT to afford it.

About the money, I'm just saying if they're going with the scarcity model forever increasing the price would only make it fair. That's all. Not that I agree in the first place because the system is flawed

I'm not sure about the gil owning part... there has to be statistics somewhere. I'm sure it's easy to get 1.5m gil

Pretty sure it's wrapped up in the "need better server capability" issues, which again aren't cheap and flying to different countries to install new servers isn't an option right now because of the pandemic. So unfortunately anything that requires servers probably won't happen until normalcy returns. They'd, at the very least, need new servers to open more wards.

Also, going to echo chamber everyone else who's saying, everyone is making the choice to camp. No one is forcing anyone to camp or stand for hours at a plot. You can easily poke it a few times and come back in a couple hours to do it again. Most plots don't pop till the 8-10+ hour mark so, it's ultimately pointless to stand there before that. The only person who controls what you do is yourself. A house isn't worth losing sleep over and the only person that makes the decision to stay up all night with a chance of failure is yourself.

No one is making anyone camp, yeah, but everyone wants to get a plot. With the random-ass timer, there's no telling when a plot opens. Is it really pointless to stand on a placard and spam when most people who win a plot do so? So much that they resort to using bots? (This, I hear from many people).

I have given up myself, but I won't stop protesting.

I don't think the housing exclusivity was intended. I believe it's a result of the player base growing faster than SE anticipated while they couldn't keep up with adding new wards to meet the demand. They may have thought the addition of Shirogane would be enough and it was only hindsight that showed it wasn't. They started talking about adding size options to apartments, which would help - many players would be happy with larger apartments that don't demo. They've talked about adding alts as automatic tenants to houses owned by the same account but that won't help. It doesn't create new houses for players who don't yet have one, it just gives homeless alts a place if the account already owns a house.

We're left with the question of what Ishgard housing will be. We know it's coming. It may not be a solution to the problem (though we can hope) but any additional houses will at least ease the problem a little. With luck, they'll have something to say about housing on the 5th either during the Live Letter (which would be good news - that would mean changes coming in 5.5) or the announcements showcase (not so good news - changes more likely to be after the next expansion is released).

A few more subdivisions will do.. I don't know. I hope they would say something about it, which I highly doubt.

Do you own housing? Do you see the point of having an apartment? I would be settling less if there's NO POINT in getting an apartment until I am LUCKY ENOUGH to win a house spam competition or get a plot by chance.

The point of having an apartment is the same as the point of having a house for most players. You have a space to decorate. You have access to a chocobo stable to train your chocobo or change its color. You have access to a cheap teleport that can off slight savings when teleporting between expansion regions. You have the ability to grow seeds.

All you're missing is the ability to intercross garden (most house owners don't use a garden patch let alone intercross) and to place outdoor furnishings/fixtures.

You do have equality. You not getting what you want doesn't mean you're being treated unequally. None of us were guaranteed a house. We all had to take our chances getting one.

No. Apartment is the ghetto compared to real houses. You're intellectually dishonest if you pretend it's not.

I woke up this morning to find 2 bots spamming a placard. The house is sold.
I have decided not to record and post them here. I reported them, though not sure if that is of any use at all.
Not sure about the plot winner, nevertheless, good for them. The real enemy is the system after all

Here are my three hot takes;

1. People are so desperate they use bot (see the neighboring threads). I don't ever want to see someone saying "Oh nooo don't spam you're responsible for your own actions " kinda post again when this is the reality out there.

2. Many fellow players don't care.

3. SE doesn't care. I believe NOTHING will happen to placard-spam-bot users.

Indeed, SE don't care: if I'm not mistaken houses are destroyed when a player stop paying the subscription. So, by encouraging this crappy system instead of giving everyone a real house (not just an appartment), it forces players to keep paying in order to keep their houses. Quite profitable for SE.

As for the bots issue, well... like gils sellers, nothing will really change.

I also agree about the fact that everyone deserves a house for the simple reason everyone pay the same subscription, meaning we should have access to the same content.
But it's wasted effort to think this will change.

Honestly, I've been at placards a lot and I've seen bots go. By the time they've 'clicked' the placards once, I can do it thrice. They're slow and not that much of an advantage in my eyes. They don't really feel like a threat, unless I'm not clicking and they are.

It's a bit sad people actually feel the need to rely on that to even have a remote chance to get something everyone should technically have by now. As you said, everyone is paying the same subscription. Some free MMOs have instanced housing available even to non-subscribers. There's really no excuse for us not to have unlimited wards or at the very least, upgradeable apartments after so long with a flawed housing system in a game that makes as much money as FFXIV does. It's hard not to think SE doesn't care when it's been over 6 years of such a frustrating system...

What's more depressing is that some of your fellow players don't think that housing is a right just because you're paying sub.. while sitting lavishly in their house. It's a bit wild to me.
