I do not think Yoshida made a mistake. I do not think Yoshida made a bad decision. I think Yoshida made an unpopular desicion. I don't want to belittle anyone's right to complain or offer criticism, but I was pretty taken aback by all the QQing yesterday. Then when I saw all the posts that made direct attacks on Yoshida (calling him uncaring, stupid, and unintelligent), I was quite sickened by the behavior of some in this community. He tried to give us what he felt was best, not what we wanted.

why should that be a suprise? that's how tanaka was treated originally.

personally, i don't agree with the personal attacks against yoshi. i have been very critical of decisions he's made, but never once would i attack him personally for it. i'm also against the attacks that still continue against tanaka as well.

The servers have such low populations now that the merger is inevitable if the game is to survive. Anyone that isn't willing to admit that is ignorant of the facts. You can either deal with it, or you can cry about it. There is plenty of time to do either, but I'll tell you which is a bigger waste of time and effort...

Its his game, why does he need your input? After looking at all the "input" that came out after the announcement of a server merge (aka RAGGGGEEEEEE) I don't want him listening to most of the people that post on here and making decisions about the game with it. Have you read what people write on these forums lately? REALLY? Those are the people you want making game decisions. He should do what he feels is right because thats what real leaders do.

And don't get me wrong, I don't want him listening to me either. Why you ask? Because I don't design games for a living.

While I agree with you on the personal attacks thing, remember, we're paying customers (and SE is paying him, as well). We're not children, and he is not there to judge what is "for our own good". This is a transaction, not an issue of parenting.

Besides that, feel free to explain how this is "vegetables". How is this ultimately good for us? How does this meet any standards set by the Dietary Reference Intake/MMOs in the last five years?

My only problem with the way the merge is supposed to happen is that he forces the players who aren't active into random servers upon reactivation. I am not that bothered about being forced to move even though Trabia is not really one of the low-populated servers, but I do think that going with plan 4 was a mistake. The vocal majority seems to think plan 2 was the right one, and I agree.

As for personal attacks, there are immature people everywhere, paying attention to their insults is a waste of time.
And he should know it.

Looking at the server merge outburst, it demonstrates that we have difficulty choosing for ourselves. Like physical levels, it was just too much.

I do agree that the internet as a whole significantly cut back on the personal attacks.

Because you need to be a chef to know what sort of food you enjoy, or even what food is best for you? Walk into McDonald's, "Hey buddy, don't listen to me, just get me what you think is best for me, that's why you're the manager and I'm not"?

Ninja Edit: The whole basis of the entertainment industry is to make products people want and enjoy. If you're not delivering products that make for a happy customer, you are *failing*. SE is paying Yoshi to make happy customers, and make more of them. This is not conducive to happy customers, and the single best argument for is based around a hypothetical "Well, uh, maybe they'll make new, better friends along the line."
