DRK needs another rework in my eyes. Nothing on it gels, like PLD has the magic and melee thing, WAR has the self heals, GNB has the high speed gameplay. DRK has nothing, it just takes bits from other jobs and mashes them all together. Furthermore, nothing DRK has feels “dark”. Shadow wall is the same thing as sentinel but it’s purple, that doesn’t make you feel like you’re using darkness it doesn’t make you feel distinct from a PLD.

In my opinion DRK should be a support style tank similar to PLD having more group mitigation and it could achieve this in a way that feels more “dark” by giving it a drain identity.

For example, instead of shadow wall we could have drain vitality, using it increases the targets damage taken by 5% and reduces the DRKs damage taken by 30%. Instead of dark missionary it could have drain strength, lowering the damage of targets in an AoE by 10% and increasing the DRKs damage dealt by 10%.

Then it could have more drain style attacks in its kit, instead of TBN it could have drain, deals damage and absorbs the damage dealt as HP, anything over max HP is added as a shield. Combine salted earth and abyssal drain into one move, placing a field on the ground that deals 200 damage per tic to enemies within for a total of 1200 for the full duration and drains the damage dealt as HP.

If DRK had more drains in its kit like that then living dead would make more sense because the DRK could help heal through it if not heal it entirely themself.
