While the systems in place can certainly do with an update, or modification. It is also not Square Enix's fault for player-driven obsession. Until any actual information can be given to us on possible changes or alterations to the system, you are responsible for your own actions. You are the only one who can actively decide when to stop for your own medical health or sleep-schedule.

Housing isn't worth losing sleep over. Nothing should be worth more than your own well-being. But to that end, it's up to us to pick when to take a break.

Also I don't know about the population of your server but from time to time there is always a free plot somewhere.
Just check all housing districts once you logged in and check them again before you log out.
It takes about 10min/day and in a few weeks you will have the chance to buy one.

And maybe try to log in early in the morning before going to work/ school and check if something got available in the night.

There is no reason to camp a plot for hours because there could always be someone who transfers his old plot to the position you are camping.

Use 3 clicks per day per plot policy, recorded on server and resets at the daily soft reset, that way you dont need to be up all night, that way you don't need to use illegal auto clicker tools, and by that you do not need to physically need to spam the same button over and over again, and just go out and do your dailies and other stuff once used your 3 clicks.

This way the one clicking when the timer is up is the lucky one, it does not introduce or induce some raffle... it is fairplay to everyone, and also people would get more around trying to get a house.

One thing I've noticed on the housing forums is an alarming amount of people defending SE, saying it's not their fault people no-life to get a house after creating an environment that encourages no-lifing or botting to get one. This seems to be a unique opinion specific to these forums.

No. There are lots of other players playing at those times even if you personally don't. if that's when the timer ends up expiring, then they get their chance to purchase.

One has to ask the real question as to whether the system is working as intended in favor of most of these houses ending up on RMT sites.
