Aside from the Deepshadow set already mentioned, there are also a number of unrestricted glamour item armors: the Ward Knight's set, the Legacy Warrior mail, Aymeric's outfit (for guys, at least), the Rathalos set (and the augmented variant), the Crystarium guard set...
I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer

If - particularly for alts where I don't want to level everything again - I can unlock a class at level 1 and immediately put on my glamour idea involving the pretty Neo-Ishgardian gear (or whatever takes my fancy), I'm done with that class for that character. The only time I will ever need to put into it is getting further outfits which may come straight off the marketboard or drop into my lap while dungeoning.
It would save me days and weeks of playtime to not have to level everything I have currently levelled purely for glamour-equipping purposes.
Would I like it if the restriction was lifted? Absolutely. But SE isn't going to let me get away with it.

I just wish they would at least put less restrictions on PvP gear and change their policy on all crafting and gathering gear so that it can be equipped (and hence glammed) to all classes from now on.
Heck they just released a bunch of new glamour items, but the kicker is that you can only use them on 1 job, so in other words basically useless and only a few people will use them instead of maybe giving the people who like making glamours more items to chew on and get them doing Ishgard for all the scrips needed to get all the sets

If you can wear it on a job, you should be able to glamour it. Tank's can run around naked, anyone can be dressed as a mascot, the visual sets shares looks with random roles, the devs themselves don't care much about restrictions and we are free to preview and mix any kind of gear as long as there isn't a conflict with the seams.
Removing restrictions would just be removing redundancies that players will quickly forget that it even existed.

People who complain about healers wearing plate have never played a game with a cleric or a paladin class.
ESO has totally unlocked glamour. You can mix heavy, medium, and light pieces into any outfit you please. No one has a problem identifying people's class/build because the tank is wearing a caster outfit. That's why we have spell effects. If you need armor to translate what a job is, then you're saying the spell/ability design is weak.
AF gear should be the only job locked glam.

In my experience, robes very inclined to look like shapeless lumpy garbage when your body is shaped like a football.
Doesn't matter the cut or the style, my legs are so short that if it goes beneath the waits at all it can suddenly becomes very "bathrobe."
Though you're right, I'm also just being salty. I'm sorry for that.
Ooh, I see~Aside from the Deepshadow set already mentioned, there are also a number of unrestricted glamour item armors: the Ward Knight's set, the Legacy Warrior mail, Aymeric's outfit (for guys, at least), the Rathalos set (and the augmented variant), the Crystarium guard set...
I've been looking pretty hard at healer pieces for plate mail and didn't even think to check the "all" sets.
Too bad the crystarium set is a jacket with pillions... and the rathalos set is a coat with no plate... and the rest are mogstation (though those are still valid options and I'll def be keeping my eye on them, thanks)
Ah yes, and then if you play another job with the same gear the glam dissapears. I'm so glad when it happens. Unlocking AF for jobs with the same type of equipment is the easiest solution to this (and doesnt break immersion imo).
The class identity is weapons and skills imo. Ppl are already tanking in casual outfits aniway or half naked. AF armor is just : " This guy played X class, farmed eureka, cleared this raid several times etc... ".
What AF gear comes from a raid? Dyable AF armor came from eureka, I'll give you that, but all artifact gear (save for shb, which was a strange thing) comes from your class quest. AF sets are themed around jobs, where all other sets in the game are not.Ah yes, and then if you play another job with the same gear the glam dissapears. I'm so glad when it happens.
