The praise is generally for the way ESO housing functions as opposed to the art style (though the art style has its fans as well).
You can own every available housing location in the game if you want because it's all instanced. There's more variety in locations and layouts, essentially being pieces of the game world instead of isolated wards. No need for floating glitches - items can be placed and rotated freely not to mention resized. Game subscribers have higher item placement limits than we get in some of the housing locations (but those who play but aren't subscribed have lower limits to work with).
Now imagine that with the FFXIV art style. Wouldn't you consider it an improvement?
I've already said this on another post, but the way I see it the problem is servers. SE should expand it's server capacity and then we won't need to have conversations about faulty systems. The game shouldn't make content exclusive; everyone should have a chance to obtain every item in the game at their own pace. Grinding is good and satisfying when you finally obtain what you want, but making content only accessible by clicking a placard for 10 hours and taking a day off work to do it is disrespectful towards players. Not everyone has the leisure to do that. Some people can only dedicate a couple of hours a week to the game. They shouldn't be at a disadvantage.
Increase! server! capacity!![]()
Too! Expensive!
Server costs are huge. You cannot just increase capacity at will. They also do in fact plan to add more servers.
just a little thing called a pandemic is preventing them from getting to go overseas from japan to the US to install them.
OP if you wanna read up more about recent discussions about a raffle system, here are a few other threads still on the front page of the housing board:
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...Buying-a-House
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...s-Up-For-Grabs
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...housing-system
Also, SQEX has mentioned that they prefer us making longer threads about one topic as opposed to many short ones, especially since they don't really take notice of them unless they get real beefy.
I imagine a raffle system is something they've already considered, but if this is a change you wanna push for then in the future try adding to existing threads instead of starting a new one.

The horse you’re beating is long dead. Just stop trying til the ishgard housing becomes or doesn’t become a thing. At which point the discussion deserves to be brought back up again. Majority of players would rather current allocations go to battle content. We’ve lost more of that this expac than any due to circumstances abroad. It’s your choice to play the placard game over the actual game so there’s nobody to blame but yourself for missing out. Thread after thread after thread...you’ve been heard. Now wait and play the real game til talk of new housing from SE starts to become a thing. Chill!
Oh that would definitely be an improvement, though I do really enjoy how FF has us in wards, I like seeing my neighbours around, you know? The praise is generally for the way ESO housing functions as opposed to the art style (though the art style has its fans as well).

Bot's would enter the raffle and not just one, 100's 1000's of them would... and those bots would be RMT bots, and slowly consume the wards, then sell FC houses for 100 dollars real life money and more, that is what the raffle would do.
The raffle would most likely also crash the server due to the relocation system, which means if you got a house in Shirogane and want to go to the Mist... then you relocate to that place in the mist directly, which frees up a house in Shirogane and consumes one in the Mist.
You got a point there. They'd probably have to do something at raffle entry to sift out the bots from the actual players from the bots without the constant clicking for hours for an invisible timer. As for what it should be, I don't know, cause the only thing that comes to mind is a random sequence of button presses displayed on a UI. But that sounds like it could be hard to program cause some are on PS, and others on PC, and they could have custom keybinds. And I also highly doubt that it would be a lasting defence against bots since their creators are cleaver computer engineers.Bot's would enter the raffle and not just one, 100's 1000's of them would... and those bots would be RMT bots, and slowly consume the wards, then sell FC houses for 100 dollars real life money and more, that is what the raffle would do.

And I don't think relocation would have to crash anything if they also enter the raffle just like everyone else. Sure, their will definitely be complaints on the loss of efficiancy for relocation, but now everyone has a fair chance of getting the plot once SE finds better ways to prevent RMT and bots.
I know you posted on several of these threads, but I my tired brain can't remember if you voiced your ideas for a better house buying system before or not. Do you have any other ideas?
