I will say depending on how it goes, the road to 70 bonus is more of a curse than it is a blessing. For a lot of people, it can be a very inaccurate representation of the pacing of leveling, whether people are fully aware or not. Now, this in itself I guess isn't much of an issue, but you still do miss a lot of what can and otherwise would keep you busy, be it side-story quests, doing FATEs in the open world, or just grinding by other means.

As someone with several capped characters I can at least say for someone who is motivated and with a lot of spare time on their hands; which isn't particularly rare given pandemic, but you can easily completely cap a character way within that time frame, even playing casually. Which I do think is a significant issue consider the sheer effort required to cap a character without the bonus.

I personally feel that players should be given an option whether they want the exp buff, but I believe it should additionally; either have a much shorter time-frame on how long this buff lasts for, and I mean something such as 8-12 hours in-game time. Or have it so that the buff is a lot more restrictive- e.g applies strictly to story quests.

I feel like this buff should be a means of providing a slight kickstart incentive into the game, rather than something that actually provides the means of completely capping out an entire character. It's absurd

It is a good suggestion to make the EXP buff optional. Not sure why people would be against that except for the very common trend on the forums for people to oppose pretty much any changes to the game. In the current expansion, the devs even still design the game around having times where you have to go do side content to progress in the story, so the complaints about how you used to have to do the same back in ARR are ridiculous. There's literally no downside to giving people the option to have the extra EXP buff or not.

I'm personally not against it. I just think that there are more pressing matters to attend to first is all.

I disagree, I just leveled 3 jobs at once while leveling to 70. Granted, I already had experience from other MMOs and noticed that I was otherwise outleveling the areas and just wasting a ton of exp, but getting multiple jobs up at once was a ton of fun until the exp rates lowered enough that it was no longer sustainable.

Ah yes, so much logic in this.

There are plenty of things to level and grind after you're done with MSQ. We have 16 classes (currently) and tons of content.

I wouldn't mind them adjusting the system, maybe have it give less exp but still enough to go through the story uninterrupted. As one of those who had experienced the agony of being stuck on MSQ I personally wouldn't want new people to go though this. Especially if they actually enjoy the story.

    I mean...

Logical or not, this is how it has always worked in just about every MMO to have ever existed. Welcome to the genre.

It also doesn't take most people a few days to progress a single story step in this game.

I am aware but why try to use "logic" when there is none?
Besides, just because it's not novelty to MMO games there is nothing wrong with having an opportunity to go through the main story of the game without needing to catch up on levels.
Especially in a game where you can have all classes on one character.

Few days was an exaggeration unless someone really doesn't have much time to play. Still breaks the immersion into the story though.

As it is, it is your choice if you want to break immersion that way, because you have to actually work on it to ever have the need to catch up on levels. (Work on it, like not doing any sidequests or roulettes at all, or deliberately spreading your XP between multiple classes.)

When I'm going through the story other quests and roulettes are the last things on my mind. I don't care what's up with those other NPCs nor do I want to stop in the middle of a quest to go do a random dungeon.
What you're saying is basically "you need to break your immersion so you won't have to break your immersion".

Even without Road to 70, the last time I leveled an alt, I skipped all side content except for job quests and aether current unlock quests, and still hit 50 before Stone Vigil, 60 in the Aery, 70 before Bardam's Mettle, and 80 in the Qitana Ravel. It really doesn't make much difference, because after ARR, you'll be out-leveling everything anyway.

If they add an option for a person to disable it for themselves, I'm not gonna say no. It's your sub, you do you. But it's not really that big of a deal.
