Party finder advertising

New rule made out by blizzard in WoW:

Real money sales of in-game items or services, such as assistance with dungeons, raids, arenas, battlegrounds, etc., are prohibited.

The sale of items and services for gold is allowed, but their advertising must be carried out within the game world, for example, through the trading chat channel. We do not allow the placement of ads in the "Group Search" system. This system is designed to search for groups, and such announcements make it difficult to find groups that recruit players.

Accounts used solely for advertising purposes may be closed.

Took them long enough. Less clutter in the Party Finder is never a bad thing so I'd be all for it.

I only put people on my blacklist who keep advertising run sales on discord. I'm well over 100 people on there now so I'm gonna run out eventually (Worse when people use alts to do the same thing so my blacklist will fill up quickly)

I'm at about 110 people. Doesn't help when people do use alts/have others put up PFs for them with the same recruitment post AND same discord number/name. It's technically people getting around the blacklist system.

It is. The less advertising in game the less money those people make. They probably don't even file it on their taxes as income. Bunch of tax dodgers.

My blacklist is around 150-160, but that was from ARR and HW when RMT spammers were out in full force. I just never bothered to clean it up. lol That was a rough time. Couldn't play for more than a minute without being spammed with /tells at least 2-3 times. Like a lot of people back then I resorted to turning on /busy status. There was no other way. The day that added the right click > report RMT function they went back into their holes and spammed capital cities only, where they are reported endlessly.

You can report anyone who is obviously using it for RMT purposes--i.e. people selling clears and artwork this way, but they're usually also very careful to avoid language that sounds like RMT, so it's kind of pointless unless SE clarifies the purpose of Party Finder more and outright prohibits any kind of real-world services in-game whatsoever.
