I heard that most of the FF14 team where moved to work on FF16.
If that is the case that's why we got less content and next to no seasonal content. I expect things will normalize once FF16 is out.

Even IF that were true, youd think our game would be on basically life support for idk... 1-5 years? xD
Pretty sure COVID is why we got a delayed release of info / patches and seasonal issues, with perhaps 'also' an expansion coming causing extra crunch on the team as they have to work on both the content coming soon and the content coming in the expansion.
I would doubt they would gut their team at the finale expansion of the ARR saga. (Finale as in for this story, can always have other stories).
Not to say you're definitely 100% wrong, but since I've never seen the quote on that and the logic of the choice sounds iffy I'm pressing "doubt" lol.
Lots of things 'Yoshida said' but never actually said out there.

To be fair, there are things that he has indeed said but it has mostly been in passing, so there isn't much of a record of those things to refer people to. I specifically remember him saying that a gunblade job would happen once we got closer to the Empire sometime in early ARR. Lo and behold, it became a thing exactly when he said it would. lol I've never been able to find an actual source for reference though. But I know he said it! There have been other things but nothing specific comes to mind.

Personally, I'd like the announcement in Feb to include more than just the title. But I'll take what I'm given.
Seeing that we typically see a Summer release, it'd be crazy to see just a title as we're already in 2021. But I expect with COVID, a summer release might be wishful
Ik the thread has strayed somewhat but I still don't understand what pressure the dev team should be feeling from their counterparts in XI
Completely agree I'm was just, what pressure when i read the op post Xi has not have any major i mean major story content patch since 2015
I mean you can't compare these 2 one made when ps2 was new and happy and is more friendlier for developer with complete different game engine i can go on and on.

The seas continue to rise while the lesser moon continues to fall, and ilm by ilm, the world becomes ever more unlike itself, without the illumination of knowledge, we but vainly flail as specters in the dark.
Absolutely fair, he does say things- just I see a lot of people claim he said something a very specific way but can never find it. But I bet I could find the gunblade thing if I tried lol. I regularly look up quotes I use or people use, and have almost always been able to find them given 25 pages deep of google search and rewording attempts (not saying I've never thought they said something they didn't but I find it very awkward and rude to put words into another's mouth, at least in a 'matter of fact' sort of presentation, sometimes you do it on accident but I try not to). On occasion I can't find what people think they're claiming but then find the only thing on the topic as a whole that says something different with small hints of similarity (different enough that it's not what they think was said, but kind of relates and could be a likely seed of wrong information being passed around users), yet they continue to say he said it even though they've no evidence of it and the only actual evidence says something different. To be fair, there are things that he has indeed said but it has mostly been in passing, so there isn't much of a record of those things to refer people to. One thing I found kind of cute he referenced is he did discuss the order of sky sea space long ago. Or another, 'cute item' to me at least, is he in pretty clear detail explained what Blue Mage would be like back in ARR's beta time. He said that it would be a side content with a book of spells, at the time it was more like thinking outloud (not said matter of factly) but he yeah, there are a few things he has said in the past, sometimes long past, that have came about later.
IF you can't find a source, especially after actively trying, especially if you find something related that doesn't say what you thought was said, then the only right thing to do is to begin to cast doubt (doesn't mean you can't still think it was said but adding a vibe that you're truthfully and accurately quoting someone "i know for a fact he said this" should come with some sort of expectation that you can actually back your statement up rather than just be like "I know for a fact Vahlnir is into thicc Au Ra" because of some vague feeling I got when I misremembered a post you commented on in some dress your character up thread).
Which isn't really a comment on just quoting Yoshida or SE in general, see it in the forums as well. On a personal experience I'd say most frustratingly for me was being told I factually wanted 1:1 scale primals for summoner way way way back when, like by 8 different people, because one person either lied or misremembered (at which point I quoted every single post I ever made in that thread, which happened to be like 50, to prove that they were wrong and that I clearly never said or intended that). Occasionally when talking to people if I know I've spoken to them about an issue before I go back and re-read old posts we've had to make sure I carry on vaguely similarly (which has backfired before, if people evolve their opinion, but that's fine and welcome to update, adjust, and or clarify intentions).
Then the cherry on top of all that is naturally as things age there should be some amount of wiggle room with "you mean the quote from 10 years ago? . . . ?" lol. Since people can change. You could find quotes of me saying I think the glamour system is a terrible idea, before it was made, at this point I think glamour system is an incredible driver of content and creativity and wish it was a better log system (heading towards if not better than WoW's)... although I /still/ wish there was some sort of restriction on seasonal / bikini wear as that really does take me out of the experience in important content my first time around. There are many things I can recall SE said they can or can't do that have now become different cases, whether it be game features, lore, or general design philosophy. It's a cherry though because sometimes even though it is 10 years old it's still true, but sometimes not... haha. So then you've to judge that even if you do recall it correctly, is it still actually a useful bit of info, and why? (because someone else might find evidence that maybe it's not)

With covid's effect on their timeline for releases it's probably gonna release near septemberPersonally, I'd like the announcement in Feb to include more than just the title. But I'll take what I'm given.
