Now you’re wanting them to retroactively go back to content and redo every hat pretty much which is development time which doesn’t benefit the player base as a whole.

I don't think they need to go back and rework everything, but not being able to wear a fancy job specific BRD or RDM hat is almost criminal.

I would hope there are plans for more hat/head item reworks. They had promised more hairstyles which i'm personally more interested in but I have to admit I'm a bit puzzled that after more than a year we have absolutely nothing new to show.

It's also rather disappointing that even with new releases Viera and Hrothgar are left out which i find to be a bit inexcusable in my opinion.

I think it's important to note that they're not (or at least I don't think it looks like they are) specifically designing Viera-compatible hats in response to demand. Rather they are carrying on with their usual design process making everything for Hyur first and IF the hat works with Viera they can have it.

As far as I've seen there's a clear pattern to what works: soft, loose hoods and cute little hats that balance on top of the head without affecting the hair or clipping through the ears. Also that one armoured crown of course, but it fully covers the hair, dodges the ears and evidently meets any other criteria for being doable.

They actually made the Dirndl's hat quite a lot smaller for Viera so they made the smallest bit of effort to actually get it to work there, but then they don't bother doing the same for Eastern Socialite's hat and other similar tiny hat models.

It's always a surprise when something is actually visible because it's wildly inconsistent, the Elemental Helm of Fending also fully covers the face and hair as far as I can see so in theory it could have worked like the armored crown, but then it randomly doesn't. It wouldn't look great, but then things like this are just fine.



Definitely always try before you buy on a case-by-case basis with Viera and Hrothgar. Or try before you put in the work, in OP's case.
