Nice tirade, but irrelevant to what was said. Giving a mentor time and giving them DPS meters won't make them anymore able to teach than someone who isn't a mentor.Show me one dungeon party that's willing to stop the run so that a mentor can coach everyone. I've never seen one. Everyone wants to run ahead and pull everything as fast as the healer can heal. Get everyone in the game to agree to give mentors time to teach and then come back and let me know.
Also, please get them to make DPS meters legal so that mentors CAN teach people how to get better.

Oh. My. God that would have been adorable. An icon to show you know how to nurture the sprouts.I think it needs to be far less about the pixel reward (aka mounts, glamours, etc) and more about what it's really for: helping people. Adding those things into a mix was a mistake in and of itself. And making the crown the Mentor symbol was also a bad idea. I still think it should have been a watering can or something.
When the requirements for mentors were changed it then reset their 'burger king crown' but wasn't exactly hard to complete the newer requirements. Changing or raising them again wont solve the issue.
Neither will having a report function or negative-feedback feature since it would be abused and not every sprout can be taught.
And with the suggestion earlier of having a renewal requirement such as running mentor roulette - again its not hard to do this. From my experience at least mentor roulette is no different to any other trial/dungeon/guildhest roulette as alot of the 'sprouts' are actually just alts.
A positive-feedback feature though could be something to add. Similar to the player commendations, players could tick a mentor as being helpful. Maybe 1000 'ticks' gets you a title or glamorable-crown.
One thing I want to note here though is that just having mentor status doesnt mean it should stop being fun for us. I was guilted this morning for trying to buy a personal housing plot just because i was a mentor and therefore i should be leaving it for a sprout? Thats just not cool bro.
It never ceases to amaze me how far people will go to shame a mentor for any reason at all.One thing I want to note here though is that just having mentor status doesnt mean it should stop being fun for us. maybe a new crown image for people that expires and you can mantain only if you get X comms from sprouts a week (3? 5? 10?) sure that might get people to "hunt" for newbies in need on the network but it will be something!
Or just spend a few hours in Firmament, KEK.
The crafting mentor status is a literal joke to obtain, and its only saving grace is the lack of mentor roulette. But you still get a crown, you still get sprout chat, etc.
Ehhh Mentor and Novice Networks are both a massive joke. NN is just a place Mentors go to scream at each other or jerk each other off, usually both at the same time.
Depends on the server. Mine used to be fairly toxic but since returning to the game recently and getting my Mentor status back (dang healer requirement!) I have noticed the NN is a pretty chill place on Diabolos. People are plenty helpful as well. The occasional drama does happen like literally everywhere else in the game but it is quickly dealt with, usually ending in the removal of those who started it or those who keep it going.
Same, NN on Marlboro is nice and chill too.Depends on the server. Mine used to be fairly toxic but since returning to the game recently and getting my Mentor status back (dang healer requirement!)
