Sadly true. I feel sort of bad for the crowds of players hyping up and prepping for that "patch day profit window". There simply won't be one. There are tens of thousands of players all ready to jump on the same profit train thanks to accessibility and an army of bots lurking ahead of them. Mats will drop below 1k each before evening on day one and the new battle set will be worthless before a week is up. We'll have it all done and be bored with crafting again within days.

The bots were already up and running within 12 hours of patch 5.2 dropping, so the profit window practically doesn't exist anymore.

As long as the mats for the new crafts aren't time-gated and/or soulbound, I doubt anything is going to ever hold much value for long.

Exactly this. This is also why I never bother crafting new stuff day 1 of patch. Better to sell the stuff 1 tier lower because it's cheaper and no one will be selling/crafting that for a few days.

Everyone is free to do whatever they want but I suggest everyone to just stop crafting and "boycot" it until SE gets their act together. Time to take Old Yeller (crafting) out for a final walk in the woods. Crafting died pretty much halfway into Stormblood -- arguably once HW ended. End of the day, gil is useless guys. All the cool stuff is sold for cash money in the shop anyways.

It won't help boycotting it, there are just too many players that are satisfied with hand-outs for their work.

Boycotts only work if there's still demand that's not getting met. When it comes to crafting, there will always be someone willing to meet that demand.

As Prrringles said, gil is mostly useless. "Hand-outs" are still profit for those who enjoy what they're doing.

If you were in it for the gil and not because you especially care about crafting, I'd recommend switching to treasure map farming parties. Next week should be extremely lucrative if the glamour set displayed with the accessory wings is the new map glamour as I suspect. I can see a lot of players jumping at the opportunity to get at least the top if not the full set. The wings themselves might also be from the treasure map dungeons, not to mention the new Chandelier for housing that's drawn a lot of interest today from other members of my FC. The Golden Beaver definitely will be coming from the dungeons.

Yeah treasure map farming is great. Can duo the lvl 70 party maps with pld/rdm easy. Even the glider maps for that indigo cloth is nice depending on the price of the maps

Yeah, this is pretty much gonna be the money maker for awhile, especially if that new glamour will have the mats for them in there. Very easy to get a group of three and just keep doing some for a few hours.

I'm kind of dumbfounded by how many new DoH/L bots have sprung up just in the past week or two.

I feel like there has to be RMT involved in this whole mess for it to be as common as it is, since it's not like there's a whole lot to spend gil on even if you're filthy rich.

Makes you wonder who they're banning for RMT, since they ban around 3-5,000 a month.

I'm pretty sure that number refers strictly to the mass-produced hacking gil farmers who just aim to get as much done as possible before the ban waves go out by teleporting around.

The DoL/H bots are able to fly under the radar simply because they aren't hacking, but it's painfully obvious some of them are part of a grander scheme when you see individuals on each server who belong to very similarly named FCs.
