Here's the thing-
KMMO's typically have really great armor designs & character creators & a terrible to an almost non-existent story like whatso-ever
So, KMMO's:
1.)Great armor/ outfit designs
2.)Typically amazing character creators
3.)Terrible story,
4.)Lackluster combat,
5.)Cash shop/ Pay to win heavy
FFXIV:
1.)Terrible character creator
2.)Mostly 'meh' armor & outfit designs
3.)Great story
4.)Fun combat
5.)Housing - & the only pay to win related thing is mog station insta levels for jobs
So, comparing it to a KMMO is abit silly & over-analyzing
As far as wings go-
I've never liked the idea of the backwings in anything with a few exceptions--
I couldn't stand GW2 because everyone had just terrible, massive backwings- it broke the immersion so much when everyone ran around looking like a giant rainbow fairy firework- aside from anet literally lying constantly to their playerbase about everything, the armor designs were just as questionable
I hope backwings isn't something SE makes consistent, but most players have terrible fashion taste anyways & lack creativity, so I see backwings being more popular & requested.
Yet, As long as the story remains as solid as HW & ShB, upgrades being made to better the game itself, if the only issue is SE releasing ugly backwings- You won't see me complain (much) or make drastic comparisons to KMMO's
Well, the Korean MMO thing was a joke, but this is interesting nonetheless. Personally, I prefer FFXIV's preset style of character creator. I just think it needs more options to choose from. The thing about Korean MMO's, I actually HATE their character creators. People can (and do) end up making some straight up abominations. There are too many options for variance, yes I said it. Too many options. Here's the thing-

As for outfit options, not really. 90% of the time they are over-sexualized and made specifically for the cash shop for like 30 bucks each. Like look, I don't mind sexy outfits.. when they make sense (in theme).. but some of the stuff they have are just ridiculous. Anything, you can actually earn in those games look like burlap sacks, so that you will purchase from the cash shop. You did bring up the cash shop though, so we can agree on that. FFXIV is pretty hit or miss with their glam options, but I quite like the vast amount of options to choose from. They are very hit or miss with their sets specifically, but from that sheer amount of options you can create glams that look pretty great! Though, they need to increase the glamour dresser amount, and give us more plates...
I completely agree! Most players do have terrible fashion taste! (No, I'm not being sarcastic either)![]()
As of now, those wings seem to be really nondescript, and we already have a couple mogstation pieces with similar wings, I don't think it will be adopted by the community on a large scale as of now.

I saw far less complaining about the meemaw/pawpaw vacation fashion glam items (or any of the 'realistic' or 'modern' fashion pieces) but add wings, which are a staple of fantasy games and suddenly the game is going a direction no one wants. If you feel so strongly about it, then don't obtain them, don't wear them. Send a clear message to SE that they must listen to. (While the rest of us enjoy them.)
The over-sexualization can be really off-putting & annoying when it's all that's available & only on female charactersWell, the Korean MMO thing was a joke, but this is interesting nonetheless. And 100% yes to the increase to glamour dresser wardrobe- I don't see a point in putting a limit to it because people are just going to ask for larger if there is a limit when it comes to fashion/ glamours
There are many MMO's that just have a limitless wardrobe function that once you unlock that look, you can apply it later
I agree you can have too many options when there's a character creator- let's show exhibit A:

If we can believe the devs then the limited dresser space is actually because of the game's spaghetti code. It puts quite a bit of stress on the servers, same reason why we can't just put everything into the Armoire. And 100% yes to the increase to glamour dresser wardrobe- I don't see a point in putting a limit to it because people are just going to ask for larger if there is a limit when it comes to fashion/ glamours

I was literally setting up my most recent outfit, and noticed in my dresser I was pretty much at max. It was a sad realization. The amount of plates has been a problem for awhile though... I have probably deleted millions in dyes (yes, I know you can dye beforehand then place in dresser). The over-sexualization can be really off-putting & annoying when it's all that's available & only on female characters

Sad thing is that dude isn't even the worse I've seen. People actually play some of these horrendous looking custom characters in those games, unironically.

Random surprise boxes is what this game needs. Its too easy to just grind for currency that simply allows one to buy an item everyone else has. Same with selling things on the store that everyone can get. Suprise boxes with low rngs is what makes games exciting and when you get something good it gives you a sense of individuality, knowing one can't simply purchase it. If these things get banned, you'll soon be longing for their return. I don't know each generation just keeps getting softer and softer until every single video game will be a vanilla PC simulator

Ah yes, Lootboxes, because publishers haven't raised a generation of gamblers enough it seems >.>Random surprise boxes is what this game needs.
