Three days in the coming month and a half should be worrisome to any player who doesn't fail to basic mechanics like a stack marker: Thanksgiving, Black Friday/Cyber Monday, and Christmas.

You know what these mean? It means that legions of 13 year olds who got a shiny PS5 for their birthday are going to flood the playerbase of FF14. They're going to use their mom's credit card to buy "must play" games like Shadowbringers, TLoU2, and God of War. They're going to yell profanities at you in chat the moment you tell them how they should be handling a mechanic, like every other 13 year old in PvP games. And they're going to make any trial that has more than two mechanics living hell as they fail and fail over and over again.

Get ready for new thirteen year old PS5 players who won't ever appreciate the transcendental art that is the Shadowbringers story and lore wreck through the community, and with their tantrums and low skill leave scorched earth on our community once they get bored of reading more than two sentences in the MSQ without voice acting.

Nah, dont think we'll see as major of an influx of players this time around, Shadowlands just popped off, so we might even see a slight decline till content there dries up.

Highly unlikely there will be any decline whatsoever considering 5.4 drops in a couple weeks.

FFXIV is a PvP game? Where'd you get that ridiculous idea?

I have it on good authority that 13 year olds do not get access to credit cards unless their 33-43 year old parents give them one. And most of those parents can't afford a PS5, even if they could get one.

I'd guess it'll be later in 2021 before that particular subset of players can even buy a PS5, let alone invade your FFXIV world using the PS4 edition of the game. By that time, they'll be 14 year olds, so, no worries.
