Context is everything. I've played the Eden raid, and all the clues are in there. Also, I never said they were lovers, I said they were gay. Equating being gay with sex is something homophobes have pulled for too long, and it's Not A Good Look, My Dude.So because two girls are holding hands they are gay? Does holding my dads hand make me gay? Does hugging my guy friend make me gay?
Like wheres the line? Have you even played the eden raid? Ever read the text? They are not gay. Ryne wants to help Gaia and be her friend. Not her lover. Christ.
If we're talking about looks then jumping to the homophobe word is not a good look either. Lover doesn't have to relate to a physical relationship. If someone said those two were lovers I would not instantly think about what they do in the sheets. Currently the only one I see fixating on physical sexual relations is you...
Beyond that- I've met many girls that were friendly to their friends like these two are and were not gay. They don't have to be gay, they could be, but they don't have to be.
Just a quick search shows that cultural context is important. It's not unusual for young/teenage girls in Japan to hold hands with their female friends. And considering the artists and developers are in Japan, this could be used to communicate their childlike innocence, especially as Ryne has been shown in that style most of the time we've known her.
Could they be gay? Sure. But seeing them holding hands is not proof that they are.
Also people wondering about why Lahabrea he's on Gaia's side I don't think means he's connected to her since Gaia is also in a mirror on Ryne's side. Though I do find it interesting that he's lurking in the image at all, and wonder if he'll try to mess with the progress we've been making trying to restore the first. He has no reason to cause a calamity for the rejoining since he's not bound to the will of the original acians, so he could just to try to destroy the first for the fun of it.
It's actually something Marxists of any sort get a kick out of, getting capitalists to absorb their (silly) message and employ it in what they believe will engender their own self-destruction. The whole idea that the capitalist will sell the very rope that they'll be hanged with later. This ideology begins somewhere, and that is within academia, which then filters into corporations with departments staffed by university graduates. I'm not sure quite why or how Cultural Marxism is a "conspiracy theory", and corporations aping this rhetoric for a quick buck (but also because of who they are now staffed with) is not antithetical with it being a brand Marxism, after its economic "critiques" of capitalism ended up being bunkum for the most part.Anyways, it gets pretty obvious this discussion won't go anywhere when you clearly buy the Cultural Marxism conspiracy theory, when it's for the most part big corporations trying to ride the "woke" wave along with the hordes of consumers who would lick their boots, which doesn't reallty sound Marxist at all. Same kind of tiring nonsense. And we could go on and on discussing who hates and who doesn't hate LGBT but, alas, it doesn't come here nor there, since the point of contention was the Japanese frivolity towards depicting relationships (and, you know, I would also include hetero, since it doesn't fall far from there).

When the game's story becomes self-aware:
I suspect all it is is that they will try give him the epic fight he never got, unlike Emet-Selch and Elidibus. It was speculated that Gaia is a (future?) shard of Igeyorhm for many reasons, and she (Igeyorhm) has a connection to Lahabrea, so some suppressed memory version of Lahabrea, when a primal avatar of darkness is summoned, could be the idea here. Alternatively, perhaps he is the architect of Eden, since he was a rather brilliant mind. I don't think this will involve actual Lahabrea just yet. Lahabrea is an original Ascian, by the by.Just a quick search shows that cultural context is important. It's not unusual for young/teenage girls in Japan to hold hands with their female friends. With all that said, can't say I particularly like the direction of the patch, so far, and I am sorry to see poor Lahabrea is going to be interjected into the silly teenage anime mess that Eden turned out to be.
