



Scandinavian dragons are usually more serpentine, like Midgardsormr. Hraesvelgr is more of a European dragon.
I mean, his name is Old Norse, but the mythological Hraesvelgr was a giant eagle.


I'd say you are half right. Scandinavian dragons are usually a mix. They can have serpentine bodies, but are still usually depicted with wings of some kind. The main difference between European and Norse is mostly the length/bulk of the body, and that Norse ones can have other elements besides just scales, like Hraesvelgr having feathers. Though that might also allude to his name sake as an eagle.
