I personally like the lost protect/shell/stoneskin as a red mage. As you can just go something like Protect-Dualcast Proc-Stoneskin to buff the party. Also feels like it adds a bit of cooperativeness in general as you can just buff a bunch of people with protect and shell, maybe even getting a bow or a thank you or a highfive.
