Cannot finish ARR MSQs due to raids

way back when there was a more tedious method to unlock them.
SE wanted the crystal tower to be done by everyone, so they eased up on those requirements. then they made the tower mandatory for 5.3's MSQ.

The only "more tedious" thing about the unlock, unless there was some older and worse method that I never experienced, is that you had to do specific FATEs rather than fixed battles when you travelled to the beast tribe strongholds to collect crystals. That potentially added a lot of tedious waiting time in the middle of the quest, but didn't make any difference to when or how you could do the quest chain overall.

Since you mentioned WoW - you know the LFR difficulty in WoW? (Or at least what it was up until Warlords of Draenor, when I quit for good - no idea if it's changed since.)

The 24-mans are likethat, but easier. And the level 50 24-mans are *significantly easier* than those. Other than taking maybe a combined 2-3 hours of your life (including queue time and cutscenes), they present absolutely no obstacle.

You're having trouble doing the 24 man ARR raids of LOTA, Sycrus Tower and World of Darkness? Those should be pretty easy to queue for and complete. The other raids are pretty much optional unless you want to do relic and then you would need the 3 70 level raids.

Sycrus Tower becomes required content for current 5.3 MSQ content.

I'm sure this is a hot topic (and if not, I'm flabbergasted as to why it wouldn't be), but having to finish three old 24 man raids as part of the way to access new content is awful.

I am incredibly disappointed as I was highly enjoying the game but this is just absurd.

The equivalent would be having to do Classic raids to reach Burning Crusade content and then have to do BC raids to reach Lich King content all the while you're way over-leveled and outgeared.

It's just mind boggling. I enjoy the story but not enough to slog through old raids just to get to new content. Sitting in queue for 25 minutes as a tank and still not filling. It's miserable.

Please allow a story skip for this. I want to continue to play but this feels like a major obstacle.

honestly the CT raids are no different than a regular dungeon at this point in the lifespan of the game. Its just 24 people steam rolling the CT essentially
AS for the requirement I mean a good chunk of the ct story ties into shadow bringers and honestly the CT story isn't too bad.

Did you personally validate this, or are you assuming? I had to do the Raids at level 80, since I hadn't bothered with them back at level 50.

Might be that a level 70 story skip still requires the Crystal Tower raids once you hit 80. Anyone else go that route?

i just bought one for a raiding alt and it marked the full CT quest chain as complete (with "I Hardly NOAH" available to unlock the repeatable quest to get Allagan Catalysts) and lets you go straight into ShB. It does not do that for any other alliance raid (i had to complete Ivalice raids myself to be ready for doing relic on that alt because there's a decent chance the completed relic weapon will be BiS over the raid weapon)
