Would be pretty funny if they include that for lalafell. Maybe make "Follow" outside of battle within a party result in the piggyback.

There is a hug emote NPC couple in the Gold Saucer; I'm kind of surprised they never implemented that.

The problem is they still haven't made multi person emotes, which makes things like /brofist, /hug, /embrace, etc. look a bit silly. They need to implement that system first before adding more multi person emotes.

Destiny 2 comes to mind, where one player initiates the emote and goes into a small animation to prompt other players to engage in the emote, usually a little wave, as if to say "come over here". There is also a small, glowy blue area which designates where the other player(s) must stand. Once they do, they hold a button, and this locks them into whatever animation the emote uses. If it's a high-five, it's a high-five, and it looks pretty natural.

I wish FFXIV did something like that.

Thing is, height and race aren't a problem in Destiny 2, but I can see that being a bit of an issue in FFXIV, were they to implement something like that. I suppose they'd have to account for it somehow.

It could act as a follow where one person holds out their hand and another has to accept it. They then get led around by the person who first offered their hand. Kind of like Ico:

Uncensored hand holding!? SE would have to give this game an adults only rating if they did that! Seriously though I would love this to be a thing, it would be so cute! I wish there was a duo emote system, I never use fist bump cause it looks silly when you don't actually bump another fist.

I used to be on a MMO where you could 'embrace' (be held in another character's arms or carried around) and it depended on the races interacting but it worked, althought the poses were differents.

I think if they should ever implement that, they should also add a prompt that asks the other player if they are OK with embracing or not. I don't think it would be OK to force random players to do it, or at least reserve it to married couples perhaps.

I'd love such a thing, this is something I've thought about many times. The problem is not just creating a working combination for all the different races mixing and matching, but also something that can account the different heights. Sounds a bit hard, if not simply impossible ;

But yeah if they made a buddy emote system it'll be a good quality of life improvement in the game especially with player interactions :3
