Please fix the “naked queueing” for Aliance Raids

Gladly support this. Sick of entering Circus tower Roulette and their entourage of mind-numbing dullness that only achieved that status from the number of times I've run it so repeatedly. Rant aside, any chance of having this fixed would be wholly welcomed.

From the past week getting stuck in CT? 5 times there wasn't a level 50 in it. The other two there was. And I'll be honest, I'm okay with running CT if there's somebody new, they need it. But when there isn't...I don't want to deal with that crap, it's beyond boring.

I have hard time believing that but if you say so. My experience is totally different. It's rare when there isn't a 50 and I check all the time and that is just my alliance. And for what it's worth I love getting Crystal Tower which means I don't have to spend a lot of time in a duty for next to no experience.

As Packetdancer pointed out the issue isn't that the OP (or really most of the people in the thread) hate the CT raids, they hate that their roulette results are being manipulated by lazy people to the result that they're seeing less variety in the content they're running.

This issue is basically:
"I want to more regularly experience the full variety of content that the Alliance Raid Roulette is meant to offer."

People who want to queue for specific raid will get it sooner or later while people who queue for roulette will get the reward for the roulette regardless of the content. From that perspective, unless there is a shortage of people queueing, nothing needs to be fixed.

I don't think I really understood what Poetics were at the time and I don't think I could've really spent them anyway until I finished at least the ARR MSQ. Even now I'm not sure how someone who has completed the MSQ just through ARR would use Poetics to make a ton of money as you're suggesting. The stuff you buy with Poetics doesn't sell for that much. Also, you're assuming that new players will know to use poetics to buy and sell stuff on the Market Board. There's a lot of assumptions going on here.

I'm assuming they were referring to the gear you get with poetics, not gil. As such gear is usually the highest ilevel of its debut expansion and good for the first couple dungeon of the following one.

It's gonna be a while to say the least. If the roulette was working as intended it'd be a bit longer of a queue than LotA, instead it's... very much not comparable.

I did this until I had all the glamours I wanted from Crystal Towers. It wasn't super thrilling for me either.

You're also vastly over-estimating the amount of players that actually participate in the ilevel cheese, probably because it helps you to rationalize an amoral behavior that you approve of.

I don't approve of the behavior. Where did I say anything to give you that impression.

Roulettes exist to give veteran players a reason to help fill groups for those players who are directly queuing for the content.

If you're ending up in CT more often than not, you're ending up there because either someone in the Alliance is doing it for the first time, has directly queued for it because they want a glamour or minion, they're leveling a job below level 60, and/or have not unlocked the other Alliance raids because there's no reason to.

Putting in additional gatekeeping to force content unlock and ilvl to get access to Alliance Roulette will not accomplish anything because the only players it would remove from the pool are those who could have but chose not to unlock the higher level Alliance raids. You're still going to have players doing CT for the first time, queueing for it directly because they want glamour or a minion, or who are leveling a job below level 60. Your chances of grabbing a group of 24 players from the queue pool and none of those players falling into one of those 3 categories is very small especially with Crystal Tower now mandatory for MSQ progression.

I'd say the clearest sign that something is off in Alliance Roulette is that waiting for Ivalace takes up to an hour, and copied factory can take all night. Given the number of people going in, at least some should be qualifying.

Once coins are no longer needed Factory and Bunker are pretty much "dead" content. Alliance Roulette doesn't help with that since most players use it to level up.

Anyway, perhaps one thing SE could do is use the same technology they implemented for Bozja and upscale players/gear. So no matter what you do, you can be sent to any duty you have unlocked. (This could be a very interesting approach).

Another compromise is to cap XP gains to what you have unlocked. So if a player is 60 and only had unlocked CT raids XP will get capped, as it happens with Beast Tribes for example, until more raids are unlocked.

Or SE could give the option to people to block one tier of 24m raids and let everybody dealt with whatever happens. (I like this one)

That's what I did before 5.3. I didn't have CT unlocked and I queued as tank when possible, but I always go after the adventurer in need reward so I have to go DPS often because that's what shows up often for alliance roulette. And yes, it can take a long time to queue, but I've cleared all the raids when I needed to unlock them or afterward when I needed to queue for them specifically and I've gotten my roulettes done every day.
