Dear Devs: Please lock threads that are 3-6 months old without new responses.

I think the forums should lock threads after a week of inactivity.

That soon? Not that I disagree, but people are also complaining about new threads getting started, that are very similar to ones that have been created. The argument is that it dilutes ideas, though , i think in the example of the BLU threads, its just makes it more controversial

I have all the offenders on ignore. It would be nice if the forum community all did the same thing. It's simply amazing to me that SE would allow its General Forum to be taken over by a spammer like this, it simply makes them look very bad.

I'm not just for a forum ban at this time but for a permaban of their actual game accounts.

If SE was actually aware of what they're typically doing in-game, they'd already have gotten banned a long time ago.

Unfortunately, that seems about as likely to happen as them getting banned from the forums.

I really like your noble approach to this. I haven't set ignore to on yet, but I really respect your stance on the issue

This has been going on for months. Either way they are responsible for at least checking their forums to insure they aren't made to frankly look stupid. Again I strongly recommend putting all of them on ignore. Can't respond to what you can't read. If everyone did it and continued to do it with new arrivals they'd lose the incentive to keep it up.

You don't need to ignore someone to avoid replying to them.

If I don't recognize a topic as being a recent discussion, I check who started it and when. If it was started by one of the community trolls, had a last reply from one of the community trolls or had a start date more than 6 months in the past (unless I know it's a currently ongoing discussion), I skip opening it.

Many posters have been catching on - I see a lot of the necromancer bumps failing to get additional replies and the troll posts are starting to get fewer responses.

3-6 months depending on the topic to me is a little early in locking a thread. I do wish that we had more mega threads and threads about topics that are no longer a problem should be locked. It's sad that for a time we'll have at least 5 different threads all about the same topic any time something new comes around. Like if there's already two threads on the front page let alone the 2nd page then we probably don't need a 3rd or more. Especially when the op is practically the same complaint by the OPs in the other threads.

The ignore feature of this forum needs work along with the search feature. Like when I made a new thread about the link scam the only thread I could find via search was the one talking about it via twitch. While also having dug through the 1st 10 pages of this section of the forum. Yes I could have bumped the twitch one, and I knew there had been a thread about the version via tells and I at the time had rather bump that one. Yet I couldn't find that one. Then literally two days after I posted my thread someone goes and posts a new thread. At least try and do some research before posting a new thread.

Yes, I know I have made threads with the sorry if this has been talked about at the start, but when I do it it's more from a I'm not going to wade through a thread where said topic might have been discussed it while under a huge blanket of a topic.

Any time an issue comes up again, it's attached to the old thread, and it bumps to the front.

This needs to be done, actually this forum is so old school compared to new ways to communicate out there, it reminds me for gamefaqs forums lool
