Sad Sad Halloween

When I read that there wasn't going to be a Halloween*event and why, I understood. Was hoping an old Halloween event*might have been redone that way it wouldn't cost anything at SE.*You guys gotta have these events stored* somewhere, right? It's not like these old items and or events cost you anymore money to make since they are already made. It's just data files or something*right?*
* But That wasn't the case. When I saw the sale I got excited cause friends of mine and I wanted to try and salvage*our Halloween by making our own event. I didn't collect many items*in past events cause it took up too much space in my retainers when not in use and I already had an apartment full of extra junk. My wife got a large recently and we were gonna do it up really nice but when we went to the Mogstation to buy some decorations we were pretty sadden to see that a single wall decoration costed 3.50** Frankly it was a bit insulting to see the prices of some of these decorations. I got laid off last month and my wife is disabled so we are keeping things very tight right now. Only reason we make room in our budget for FF14 is because it's the only thing we have left for recreation*since we can't*afford anything else.*
* We've been pretty low with all that's been going on in our lives and now let down further by this "sale" It's a sad Halloween this year. IRL and in game.*
* I had hoped maybe SE might make available the past Halloween prizes at the Golden saucer*to be part of the "Make it rain" event or that maybe the salvager*might give us the chance to buy past items with Gil.* Something to make this holiday*feel less depressing.**I guess that's just not the case. Starting to wonder and worry what the Christmas event will be like now. More disappointment*I guess.
Well, Just thought I'd share this with you guys and hope that the Devs and or Yoshi P are listening.*

Yeah, same. I just starting playing this year. My brother-in-law and Sister got me into it. They talked a lot about the holiday events and I was looking forward to Halloween. I just got over having Covid recently which I gave to my kids and wife despite my trying to quarantine myself in home. Thankfully we all pulled through with mild symptoms except my wife who had a harder time cause she's immunocompromised. But as I said, we are all well now and doing good. Halloween's depressing with the prospect of not knowing if its safe to take the kids out trick or treating. Everything's all messed up. I went to Mogtation to get some housing items for Halloween and was put off by the prices. If the wall pennants and paws were 3.50 for three, that might be cool but for a single item? Just too much right now. I at least got to get the vampire costume. that was good price. It didn't come with pants but my sister told me to buy them in Uldah so Looking like a scary Hroth vamp now LOL. Anyhow, would have been cool to have fun with an event and I like that idea of making past items available this year in game with MGP or gil. Guess nobody thought of it. Hope Christmas turns out better.

There are plenty of ways to dress up using in game items, a little creativity and items you can get through dungeons. Make your own fun, engage friends you have made in game to make a Halloween activity, plan for Christmas. while its always nice if SE does something, all you are doing is pinning your *hopes* on something you have zero control over or input into.

Try taking some of that back and put it on your own plate, and I think you will be ultimately happier, and find you need that...$3.50 item less.

Well, that didn't seem insulting at all. Saying I need the game to make my life seem better? What I said was at the moment We can't afford to go out or do the things we usually do for recreation. Not that I need a game to make my life have worth. So please, don't put me down for that.
As for the price, it's not the price of the item it's what you get for it. A single pennant or paws wall deco for 3.50 adds up if your trying to dress up the inside of your home for Halloween. If they had offered 3 wall items for 3.50 that would have been a better sale price especially for the times. I have already made my costume in game. I'm not talking about the costumes on Mogstation. I am talking about the decorations. Now, maybe you have all the money in the world to burn and good on you that you don't have to worry about possibly burning your savings and end up eventually homeless cause of this whole pandemic situation like so many others have already. But not everyone is so lucky and I and anyone else in the same situation doesn't deserve to be talked down to or demeaned by you or anyone else who has a better financial situation.
