Unless the lodestone explains it incorrectly, the earring never gave +30%.

・The effect "Increases EXP earned by 30% when level 80 and below" should be "Increases EXP earned by 10% when level 80 and below".
・The effect "Increases EXP earned by 10% when level 80 and below" is not applied, so characters are not obtaining increased EXP.
・The effect "Attributes and item level vary according to class/job and current level when equipped" is not applied.

The hotfix would make more sense if the earring did gave +30%
(the fetishism on XP needs to stop, though...)

I honestly wish it would be a different slot this time, maybe a ring or belt. Or an item that allows exp bonus that includes DoL/DoH.

Does it really matter which accessory slot it takes up? Belts are also weird. They seem to serve a double entendre where it is both an accessory and also gear.

It matters if you already have an xp boosting earring since you can't wear both at once.
