Dunno if its true or not but was told after the final step in our current restoration progress the Brume gets cleaned up a bit.

I just started on the 500K Achievement for GSM and it would be pretty lame if they remove it before I get to finish it (not sure whether I can make it in a month).

You have more than a month.
The next phase is likely in 5.41, which won't be until January. You'll then have several weeks for that phase to play out, just as this one.
So probably until March, depending on how fast your server is.

seeing how the mats for the previous tier of expert crafts are still available in the diadem, I'd assume that the item turn in parts ect will remain even after the whole restoration is completed

Never thought about them taken away that Pteranodon Mount. If they’re gonna be done with all this I hope they would still keep the option of being able to obtain this?

I'm assuming there will be a template version of the Firmament that we'll always be able to get into with the reasoning of continued development/restoration for Ishgard as a whole. That way they'll be able to have the vendors, quests, Custom Delivery client, etc. always accessible.

I doubt it'll ever be anything but that.

People assumed the Firmament would be new player housing towards the end of the expansion but after the more recent restoration steps, it seems less likely. They build houses in the firmament, but they are NPC houses, and they also placed a Custom Delivery NPC in the area too. Its shaping up to be little more than a fleshed out doman restoration, rather than a server wide effort to get a new set of player housing wards. I doubt we'll be getting Ishguard housing at this rate, especially as SE STILL havent confirmed or denied the rumors by this point so late in to the restoration. Also, considering they're adding yet more wards on tuesday to existing areas, you'd think they'd of confirmed if ishguard housing is coming or not by this point...After all, if they confirmed it suddenly there is going to be half as many people rushing for a house on tuesday as they wait for ishguard housing, which will give those desperate for ANY house a chance to get one on tuesday.

I think they are gonna keep the Firmament open as a crafting and gathering area for the forseeable future, even after repairs are finished. They can just say that "Those components are needed to furnish the other wards that are opening up" and thus keep it up indefinitely. Partially because it's a big crafting leveling area.
