They can't because it's rated "T". Gambling in the US you must be 18 years of age so it would be against the law even in a game.

Like the idea but sadly will not happen.

It actually doesn't have to be an opinion that it shouldn't fall under gambling legislation. It just simply doesn't. As long as you don't bet anything that has real currency value (like RL money, or chips that you trade in for RL money, a wristwatch, or a car or w/e item that is worth money), it doesn't fall under any gambling legislation.

One could argue RMT's and ebay can set prices on virtual currency or virtual property, but since this is not sanctioned or allowed by SE through their terms of service, that's a black market. Not falling under any customer protection laws either. Thus gambling for gils or items, even between players, would be legal and not subject to any gambling laws. If SE allowed you to buy gils or items for real money, then it'd be a different story. But since they aren't...

good idea, make tournaments and get some good items there or better cards, they should implement a card game same as the one we had in ff viii, is fun and simple.

The gambling spot is close to the pug guild but not the same place. just next to it there is a elevator with a dice above the door. I hope they still plan on adding it it..I been wanting to check that place out since release just like ishgard.

I don't care much for gambling, but they should add Triple Triad from FFVIII, YES!! I was so addicted to that, trying to collect all the cards. They should NOT, however, add the card game from IX, Tetra Master. That was a convoluted mess to me. TT was much more fun.

I think mini-games of any sort with some gil incentives would be awesome. I look forward to having some of these things in game.
