Thanks for the advice guys. Would it be a good idea to look for a Linkshell recruiting in Ul'dah? Seems like there's always lots of people there. :O

Welcome to FFXIV and I hope you've enjoyed playing so far.![]()
I know the feeling where you start with friends and they end up quitting on you after you've committed time and effort into the game (happens to me all the time ;
Anyway, if you truly like the game, then you should definitely continue playing, even if it's just casually and not as a way of just getting levels (doing sidequests, getting achievements, exploring Eorzea, etc.). If it's not for you, then there's no problem walking away from the game (the game will get better, so you can always wait till big patches come so you can see how the game as that point)
One thing I'd recommend you do is doing group content via shouting. Something simple such as leveling, dungeon crawling, exploring, and so on. I'm sure you'll come across someone on your server that seems friendly, and if they have a linkshell, you can ask them if you can join. I've joined many linkshells and have made many friends through doing events via shouts or just helping people with various things or asking for help myself.
Your server has tons of people that I'm sure will want to meet you.Even if they don't have a linkshell, you could possibly make one with them!
