    The thing with a public forum is you're not directly communicating with people, you're posting ideas or replies for all to view.
    People can look upon this information and provide their own input. This doesn't need to have a time limit to it.
    Limiting discourse via a time limit doesn't seem like a great idea in any case, especially when people just deem some arbitrary limit to it.

    While I agree to an extent, something from 5+ years ago should really be locked and a new topic, with more recent data, started if the conversation needs to be had. Dredging up posts from that long ago, without putting anything relevant to the discussion, should definitely not be happening.
