X360 Wired Controller

I have been using my X360 Wired Controller since I started playing XIV. But yesterday I went in with my PC to have a new motherboard, cpu, etc installed. Since they did a complete reinstall of my SSD, windows and XIV. Now when I try to do connect it to XIV in Config, I get: Gamepad not found. All drivers etc are installed.

But when I pulled and inserted USB many times, my controller went from Player 1 pad, to Player 2, those 4 green dots on the controller.

And XIV now finds the Controller, but it will not allow me to customize which function goes to what buttons, but having to select from 3 Presets.

Is this something new they have done to Gamepad users or am I just overlooking something minor. Cause as the controller is now, I keep making mistakes

I suggest trying Xpadder if you cannot fix the problem.

Sort of on-topic.

Did they ever fix the issue with the 360 Wireless controller where if it goes to 'sleep' it won't ever reconnect until you restart FFXIV. I stopped using mine because of that.

As of yet, they have not released a fix for wireless controllers that go to sleep while the game is still running. =\

There is a work-around, involving a custom 360 wireless driver, though it takes a while to set up correctly.

I managed to get my issue sorted. But it was a weird solution lol. I bought a Logitech F510 Rumble, and connected both X360 and Logitech. Went into Config, selected X360 and managed to customise the setup. But even when it was the X360 that was selected in Menu, it was the Logitech that was active. I wonder if it has something to do that the X360 controller has 4 settings/players.

But I have ordered Snakebytes XIV Controller, so that better work properly without having to have 2 controllers at the same time. But at least I can now play the game the way I prefer ^^

PS: Kittra, is it you I have seen on youtube with the Crafting Dance Troupe video? ^^

sort of if it goes to sleep or the battery drops out you got like 10 secs to put it back in or on lolz so.... not really XD

I use to use a ps3 controller and had to download motionjoy, but periodically it would 'disconnect' and I had to restart everything. I eventually bought the Snakebyte XIV controller for about $13 and have no problems. Don't even need to download anything, it just picks it right up. I don't know much for the 360 controllers... our 360 just collects dust :P
