It was seemingly enough for Emet to take him as compensation for our failure to contain the light of the First. I'm not saying your wrong, I infact agree with you (and the hypothetical conversation Cid and Graha would have on the matter), but I am saying we are not done with the knowledge. It's too convenient a plot element for the devs not to use in some fashion or another.

Definitely G'raha is going to have valuable knowledge for Emet, one way or another, but that's still going to be true if he just knows how to drive the thing and not how to actually build it in the first place.

Ultimately his background is a historian rather than an engineer, which is why I'm hesitant to say "of course he knows how it works". He might understand the spellcraft side of things but be useless at the mechanical side.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. Could be a one-off meant for some worldbuilding/humor. I mean, Cid was president till he died of old age. Presumably, that point is far beyond our in-game timeframe. So even if the three day president was next in line after him, we wouldn't meet the guy. Unless he's one of a long lived species and is a youngster right now? Like... maybe an elf? Stephanivien the 2nd? lol I doubt we'll ever know.

Would prolly be in real time, and as such it'd be unlikely unless Omega stowed away on the CT, which if he was mentioned being held by a child in the branch, seems ....unlikley to put it lightly

Here's my question though, are Emet Selch and Elidibus still alive in the original timeline? Is Minfilia? Hydaelyn?

I don't think Emet and Elidibus are still alive on the 8th calamity world.

I suppose it depends on how exactly the timeline split worked. I'm still kind of picturing the doomed timeline as a pseudo-shard, with it essentially being a copy of the source as it was when the tower tardis'd out, in which case there would be no Emet or Elidibus copies there unless they happened to be floating about on the Source at that moment.
They've probably got a few minor Ascians knocking about to deal with, but for the most part I reckon they're both on their own, and also left alone.

Or the whole thing might be a more traditional time-travel split timeline though, where everything (including shards and ascians and voids, etc.) gets duplicated at the point of the change. In which case, well, we all know how much the writers love undoing deaths...
