The Viera race was always known the be female only, where did the expectation come from? And what archetype would it even fill? If you want to play a tall male play Elezen.

I wish people would stop asking for useless additions.

Male viera do exist. It's just that only the females have appeared. In FFXII, the males live separate from the females. They make contact with each other when the need arises.
Regardless of all of that, it has been confirmed male viera do exist in FFXIV.
