The reason it's the typical response is because it's almost anyways the correct answer. Why are you so against just taking a break from the game if you're that bored?
There's also temporarily stepping away from something you have done for a long time, grown used to, and coming back to it after a break to rediscover your passion for it.
When the director/producer of a subscription-based game tells people that it's fine to unsub for a while and take a break, losing the company money, it likely is a valid course of action.
